Not a bad set up, only crowded sometimes. I find it ironic that there are signs promoting body positivity like "everybody is a gym body" yet people are asked to leave for barely being outside of the dress code. Seems kind of contradictory, but hey what do I know.

Actually it's a 0/5 and I do not recommend. I wore a sports tank that went to the top of my shorts and went to the top of my neck. I was in the middle of a workout with my boyfriend when a staff member told me I had to LEAVE the gym because my top was not appropriate. First off this is a university gym and if you can't handle seeing a SMALL portion of my stomach then maybe you should not be making dress code policies for ADULTS. It is ridiculous that a dress code policy that strict made me and my boyfriend have to stop our workout and leave the gym. I do not think anybody should be coming to this gym because this policy is ridiculous. Other gym policies are not this strict and a university policy should not be either. I will not be coming back.

Most of the time I worked out no one said anything to me about my outfit (for context it was a long crop top with high waisted leggings, only showed my stomach when I go to reach for a bar to work out my biceps and back muscles) then proceeded to have a girl tell me that is not up to their dress code. This is a university gym, not a high school. Every other gym I have ever went to, could care less about what I wear. On top of that, I would have understood if I was wearing a sports bra and spandex (next to nothing) but I was literally all covered up except a small line of my stomach when I reach upwards. This is ridiculous, I pay to go to the University and I can’t even go to the gym in clothes I buy. Definitely not happy.

I really wish they had this back when I was a student!!! Workout area is very spacious & has plenty of different machines & cardio equipment. Multiple basketball courts make it easy to get a game going. The pool area is great! The rock climbing wall is a great addition. Great job designing this!

The equipment is great but the facility is too small. The biggest problem with this place is simple, the staff. I can’t tel you how many times I’ve been interrupted working out. Whether it’s dress attire or looking after the equipment this staff is unprofessional. On top of that the dress code is extremely strict. Don’t expect to come workout wearing anything other than a T-shirt; if not you will be “forced to leave.” Another thing, the hours have been horrendous since covid. They are closed from 1:30 - 3:00 for seemingly no reason and closed almost all day on Saturday. The management is awful and I have no tolerance for the way the CPA is run. You’d be better to workout at home then have to deal with the way this gym is run. Put your money somewhere else, please!

All in all, it's really not that great. The facilities are nice when you are allowed to use them, but the staff can be extremely overbearing. It's a little sad that such a nice gym is ruined by obnoxious staff and policy. If ETSU had an option to lower tuition but students couldn't use the CPA, that money would go to a gym actually worth going to. Also, they don't have any barbell clamps. That just bugs me, what kind of self respecting gym doesn't have barbell clamps? They aren't expensive and they're a safety feature for the lifter. I don't get it.

This is an amazing facility with numerous workout areas, lots of specialized equipment, and very competent and knowledgeable staff. The day care center is extremely helpful and always clean. It is managed by a senior staff member who has kids of her own and had implemented some excellent policies. There are a variety of classes that you can take at various times of day. Lots of items can be checked out for free while you are there. They also rent a lot of outdoor equipment. I highly recommend all faculty, staff, and students to take advantage of this asset to the campus. If you think this is accurate, please "👍."

Been going for nearly 5 years and I'm still treated like a student, but I look young so I guess that's to be expected. The facility itself is great; the issues are the staff, which aren't generally very friendly and rude at worst and the hours, which are abysmal if you have an actual day job and want to workout on the weekends. Much needs changing, and perhaps with some more funding and better staff, they'll get there.
