This place is okay. When I called to make my appointment, the guy who answered was extremely rude, like it was such a bother to confirm my insurance information. When I got there, everything went fairly quickly. The girls working that day were friendly. However this place is extremely disorganized. I was reusing an old frame. After I had left, they contacted me to let me know they forgot to have me sign a form. I asked them if they had DocuSign, which they did not and wanted me to come back in. I, like most, work and didn’t have the time. I downloaded an app to electronically sign the paperwork and send it back to them. A week later they contacted me again, letting me know they were ready for me to drop my frames off??? I told them they’ve had them for a week. They let me know they couldn’t confirm this until the following Monday. In which I received a text that they did in fact have them. Overall, nothing is wrong with my glasses, they came out just fine, but due to the disorganized nature of their staff and procedures, I wouldn’t return. We all have busy lives and the last thing I want to worry about is missing forms or missing frames.

I ordered contacts the week before Thanksgiving. I requested they be shipped directly to my house( like I had done the previous two times) they informed me they would arrive in 7-10 days. After two weeks, I called for an update. They informed me that one lens was back ordered but they should be coming in just a few days and would call me back with an update. I did not receive a follow phone call. I called again right before Christmas. They said they would look into it and call me back. Again no phone call. I called again on the 29th. They said they would look into it and call me back. Once again no phone call. I called on Wednesday Jan 13. They said they would look into it and call me back. No call. I called on Jan 19th. They said they would look into it and call me back. I did receive a text later that day that I could pick them at the Layton office. I went in today and picked them. Because I did not have any contacts, I could not read the small print and asked to look at my prescription and right on box which one was right and which was left. They refused. Stating were not allowed. I stated that I felt the least they could do, given my situation, was to help know which ones go in which eye. They refused. I requested for them to print out my prescription. They did do this. Now I have to get someone else to read it ( can’t read the small sized print without my contacts in) They could not have cared less about me as a patient or customer. Very very disappointing!!!

Great staff! Arrived about 10 minutes early and greeted right away by friendly staff. Filled out paperwork and about 5 minutes later Dr. Purdy came out. Very nice doctor. He talked my daughter through everything he did. Exam went great. We picked out new glasses and the staff offered their advice with her face shape and the frame that would be best. My daughter and I were very happy with the service we received. Standard Optical in Layton highly recommended!

Zanden was so wonderful to work with. He was so patient with me trying on tons of glasses & sharing his feedback. Also helping me understand what my insurance would cover. If you choose to shop at this location you will enjoy a well organized shopping experience. Dr. Purdy was also very nice to work with. He was so helpful with answering all of my questions.

Alexsa took great care of me! She helped me look through tons of pairs of glasses and when I found a pair I liked the shape of she worked her magic and got me a picture of the other color offered and we ordered them! I really appreciated the effort she put into that. Also Dr Purdy was awesome, very thorough and informative. I will return with family soon and refer my family and friends here always!!! Thank you!

The doctor was great, very thorough. The lady at the glasses desk, Tuanna I think, was so helpful. She fixed my broken frames and was so nice. The front desk girls were snippy and unprofessional but the rest were great.

I recently visited the Standard Optical in Layton Hills mall, had an eye exam and ordered 2 pair of glasses (one for driving and distance and the other tailored for computer work). The staff and doctor were all pleasant and professional and my wait time for the exam was relatively short. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get my computer glasses and an additional few days for the other pair. The distance glasses are great. The computer glasses weren't quite right. The staff was super about it. They set up an appointment with the Dr and he spent the time with me to re-measure and then new lenses were made. I'm very happy with my new glasses (both pair) and appreciate the service I received at Standard Optical. I also had an exam and new glasses made about a year ago. That was also a positive experience. This most recent visit is the only time I have ever had to get lenses re-done. I really appreciated the way I was treated and how easy it was to work with the staff there.

Very friendly staff and professional service. Came with the family, 6 appointments done efficiently. Those of us who needed glasses were not rushed and found exactly what we wanted. New glasses were delivered as they came in. Be aware that prism-progressive lenses may take an extra week. I know we'll be well taken care of next time we go. Highly recommend!!
