National continues to impress on every level: Their cars are always clean and ready to roll (the Audi I just rented in Virginia had 400 miles on it and had that New Car Smell); the Emerald Aisle pickup is fast and easy; their customer service is always on point, with some of the friendliest agents I've ever met; and dropping off could not be easier, I don't think it's ever taken me longer than 90 seconds to return a car. Loyal member for life, National, keep up the fantastic work!

The car rental place had excellent customer service. I was able to get my rental with no problems. The car I had was the Genesis G80. It was a nice luxury smooth glide machine. After renting the vehicle I wish I had the money to purchase one.

I always have a great experience with National! I love having the ability to bypass the counter and select my own car. During my most recent trip to RCA, I had reserved a midsize vehicle but was able to select from the Executive Aisle and was excited to find an Audi Q7. It was a lovely car to borrow for business during the week and the rate was the same as reserved. Of course, the vehicles change but National has the best selection I have seen.

This is a complex review to write, due to the fact there were two different aspects of my experience. First off, the customer service was Great!! The employees were extremely helpful and professional. Helped me chose the right vehicle to fit my needs. So A Plus for Customer service!! Unfortunately, each vehicle at the DCA location had Horrendous Odor!! So unbearable I had to go and buy air fresheners throughout the week just to make the vehicle drivable! Worst smells I’ve ever had to endure. The smells were that of poor hygiene and body odor!! So I’m torn as to what star this experience deserves. Employees were Great, but vehicle was terrible. I feel like National should enforce a more thorough inspection of their vehicles.

A full review is not worth my time. Is short we we’re given a car that had a recall, had a wife pumping in the car and 2 kids under 3 crying after a 3 hour flight. Made us wait 30+ minutes, both managers lacked all service and decency. I told the extremely nice person at the exit booth I was sorry she had to work for both of them, she admitted the managers there were a mess. Shocked that national employed them. I modified my 7 night booking to 1 night. Returned the car the next day and booked through Avis. 6 years of loyalty to National is gone. DCA location.

Disappointing staff on site at Reagan airport during my last rental in Mid-August. I thought it might be fun to drive an interesting car so I asked to pay for an upgrade. The two women on site seemed uninterested in helping me and told me their jobs were solely to “escort customers to cars”. I’ve never had an agent escort me to a car in more than a decade as a customer so that seemed odd. Also, I was asking to pay for an upgrade and they had upgraded cars sitting there available. Very frustrating and disappointing.

The car was fine except for the last day when trying to head to the airport, the Nissan Sentry would not start. I called and they were quick to get a tow truck coming for the car and setup an Uber to get my family to the airport on time. Mechanical things will happen but they jumped on it quickly so we did not miss our flight.

I love renting from here and rent very frequently. Their car selection is amazing, very well cleaned and maintained, and the staff takes great care of their customers with an occasional upgrade. There have only been 2 moments where I had an issue: One car had a tire issue but was manageable, one car was not checked in properly and I received an email about returning the car. Both issues were quickly resolved and the staff has been absolutely friendly every time I rent. I'm always left with the sense that they value my business and keep returning as much as possible. Rewards program is an added bonus. If you sign up, you have more flexibility in selection and can just walk up to any car within your tier and they're all charged at the same rate. You cannot beat that value.

A fantastic experience. I always use National when I have a choice because they let you pick any car you want. Having been "Presidents Circle" with Hertz, let me assure you National will treat you better, even if you book a compact, than any status with Hertz...they consistently treated me poorly after years of loyalty. I learned my lesson and recommend National to anyone who asks.
