This place is the epitomy of health don’t care. Continuity of care is a farce here. All the command cares about here is a name in a slot. Trust me on this one; I tried to fight it for a long time but it’s a losing battle. There is rampant unnecessary lab draws on young people. People with no medical knowledge are ordering a battery of lab tests on 20 and 30-year-olds under physicians names. It got to be too much to go through all these tests on a daily basis. Eventually I just told them to stop ordering them under my name and that I would do it myself. I mean ordering psa(Women don’t even have a prostate) on women and a bunch of young guys.... pathetic. Lazy and apathetic civilian workers directly involved in patient care just get shuffled around rather than disciplined or fired after multiple complaints from physicians they work with… that is the army way in my 3 yrs of experience as a physician here. If you have a sprained ankle or sore throat or just need a physical then you’re fine, but if you have any medical issue more complicated than that you should go off post.
