It has everything that you need. It’s a big space. It can be a bit crowded but I usually go in the morning so I never run into waiting on any machine. Weights can be scattered around so you have to walk around to find them as well as the bars. Staff is friendly though. Has its own parking structure so that’s a plus.

Equipment wise, this gym is great. Cleanliness wise, it’s a disgusting place, all the equipments are dirty , floor-mats for working out are just filthy, restrooms are worst than gas stations restrooms. This gym is not what it used to be, it certainly has more members now than pre-Covid days, but they just do not care anymore I guess.

I've been a member with LA fitness for years and have attended the Hawthorne, CA location. Recently I had the most terrible experience when giving my close friend a 7 day VIP pass to try out the gym. Keep in mind my friend is from 24 hour and was thinking on transitioning over if all went well. As we arrived and checked in we went over some questions with Marcelo Garcia (Store Manager). He was very hostile and pushy with his sales pitch... We answered his questions honestly and instead he tried to deny the pass since we stated that my friend wanted to test out the gym to see if its worth it. Instead he stated that we can't use the trial unless we buy a membership and then demanded that we have to buy a day pass. I stated to him that this is a trial pass and my friend specifically came to try it out first. He continued to be rude and raise his voice by cutting us off. He stated that is not how the pass works. That my friend needs to buy a membership or purchase a day pass to get in. Also note that this is my friends first trial. That is when I brought up the disclaimer in fine print, which stated the pass can be used as a trial and no purchase is necessary. I also brought up the legal terms thats where he let us in. He stated, "its not that serious". I told him that I would be reporting him for false practices and harassment. He then stated "I'll be sure to flag your account". After doing further research on the individual I came across multiple complaints on google reviews so I believe some repercussion needs to be brought into play. I'll be cancelling my membership and extend my complaints on different platforms until this matter is fixed.

Super pushy manager and way too crowded, even at 4pm. I wanted to try out the gym to see if it fit what I wanted since I recently moved, they insisted on holding onto my ID and the manager was extremely rude when I asked for my ID back and said the gym was too crowded for me and I wouldn’t be buying a membership. Spend your money elsewhere, whether on a nicer gym with more amenities, or a cheaper gym that won’t hassle you around for just wanting to take a look.

Horrible experience, this gym forged my signature and signed my initial on the contract didn’t even review the contract with me.. the general manager is completely rude his name is Marselo. They even called my gym which is ESPORTA I switched over to them right after I canceled my L.A fitness membership. They even had the time to call ESPORTA and harass them and tell them why are they taking there customers. Very uncomfortable situation I definitely do not recommend L.A fitness @hawthorne.

I had a decent time here, noticed most parking spots are compact so most drivers park bad when fully pack. Used the swimming pool is rather small compared to other gyms.I had felt the walls in the pool was rough and could hurt your feet if you stay to long, needs maintenance. Man lockers hall ways to the pool was nasty from trash clogged the drain a bit. The only funny thing was no one was a the entrance both so I had pretty much checked myself in

Started going here more after LA Fitness Del Amo closed. I would switch off depending on the day. Since the other LAF closed this location gets super packed from 5pm til 9pm daily. Also if you go during this time the parking garage is completely full. I've had 2 recent times where the garage was completely full. Since then I only try to go before 3p. The equipment is clean, location is clean, onsite security. Best part is the smoothie bar. If parking situation wasn't so bad at night I'd give it a 4 stars.

The facility is nice. The front counter guy can do better. I came in with a free trial certificate, and the attendant acted as if I was trying to get them for a free workout and nothing else, so I just paid the day fee worked out and left. So no, I didn't get a membership even though I really did like the gym.

Ive been going here for 7 weeks now and so far I really like it. The people that work here are extremely attentive and try to help you anyway they can. The place is for the most part clean. They have an okay selection of machines but this place gets packed after 4 pm so you better go earlier if you want to get the most out of it.

Gym was fine while I was there. But when I decided to leave, I found that canceling my membership was way more of a hassle than it should be. I called to cancel, and they said I must go in person. I went in person, and they said I have to do it online, because their manager just went on lunch, and apparently they are the only ones capable of canceling a membership. Which I doubt is true because I almost canceled my membership previously with the help of an associate, until they practically begged for me to stay another month to think things through.
