Don’t waste your time. They waited until I got there for my reservation to tell me that I was unable to use my card, even though I had already given my card information online.

I rented a car from here and it was fine, a few minor concerns about the breaks but nothing major, or at least I thought. I got pulled over coming from my friends wedding and the officer informed me, as he gave me a ticket, that both the tags and the license plates were expired. Now i have a ticket over $150 and when i called in to figure out what was going on my calls weren’t answered or returned. I would definitely make sure to ask if everything on the car is up to date if you choose to rent from here because this has been more than a headache and an expensive one at that.

DO NOT GO HERE!! I would give this place a zero star if possible. I highly recommend not renting a car from this place. The brakes for the first car we received weren't working about an hour into driving and sounded like it was going to break down any minute. We were able to return it and get a new car. The new car broke down on us the next day and two more times during our short 5 day stay in LA. When we told them about the new car breaking down, they either didn't believe us or didn't care. They lack basic customer service skills. They were very rude and disrespectful when we told them about the car breaking down on us three times. They never compensated us or apologized for providing such a terrible service. I am not the type of person to write reviews, but this place was SO bad that I had to write one.

Worst experience ever! Don’t waste your time stopping by this place, the first car we rented broke down after 10 minutes, had to charge its battery and drive an hour to get a new one. This second one broke down the next day leaving us in Yosemite with a baby!!! And they couldn’t solve our problem, so we had to go to Fresno to rent a car in enterprise. They didn’t even pay us the taxi!!! They’ve been really disrespectful, and rood... terrible service!!!! We lost a whole day in Yosemite because of them. And it was our 2nd car! More then 3 weeks have past and they still haven’t called us or answered any emails. They charged us 100 US in some insurance and they won’t even pay it back to us! Not even after this horrible experience. Thank god no one got killed! Any accident could happen in their junky cars.

I called the office and spoke to John who was very nice and answered all my questions. I went to the office and he remained kind and professional. The only thing I disliked was the price 45 dollars for a very small Chevy with unlimited miles...the price was similar to enterprise and this is suppose to be an affordable car place. They clearly hiked the prices due to the weekend and events going on which sucks. Also, there was no negotiating with prices when the car was small and smelled like smoke. Also, the car I was initially told I would get, Nissan was unavailable anymore. 3 stars because the Chevy runs fine, but it does not have bluetooth, inside had stains on seat, and smelled like smoke and should not be 45 dollars.

Customer service very rude, Please Don't Come Here, Aggressive hidden charges, they charged me $130 for one day rental, cars are junky and old, the car couldn't run on the freeway and I went back to exchange but they were very aggressive and said I am lying and the will call the mechanic to check it and then they charged me for Two days rental for a brokedown car, the rental price says $6.99 but they are extremely charging for the mileages used. Old cars and dirty smelling like ashtray, Don't Rent here

My husband had an accident and placed our car in the body shop. So, he called La Brea office to rent a car. He spoke with Rachel. She was very professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. She quickly arranged a car for us. However, he decided to change the date. He called again and spoke with Jason. Jason was very polite and provided excellent customer service. Jason did whatever is necessary to give us a car. My husband called again to change the time to pick up the car. Jason did a great job again. Finally my husband got the car, drove it for several days and returned it. We received amazing customer service and a good price for the car. Thank you 699 RentACar!

My BF and I have both rented here. I like them. I didn't need a beautiful car, just one that was reliable, and they gave me exactly that. They were friendly and clear about their policies. Rachel made the process easy, even fun. So glad I have one of these places in my neighborhood for when I need wheels.

I've gotta say, some of the reviews here seem pretty angry, but it's not really the rental places' fault that you need to get insurance to rent a car in LA... I've probably rented from these guys about 8-10 times over the last 7-8 years, mostly from the West LA branch, occasionally from the Hollywood branch. Have had all types of cars. Uniformly, they've always been really cool, polite, friendly, easy to deal with and transparent. Yes, I got caught with thinking I'd paid all I needed for insurance on the website and then finding out when I got there it's probably another $100 for liability insurance, which you can only seem to get for a month min for some reason. But again, I don't really view that as their fault. Perhaps they could be more up front about it on their website. Regardless, you will still end up paying half if not less than what you would pay at another rental car place, so I don't really feel annoyed at all. You can rent a kind of crappy car for the lowest price (I think around $6-8 per day not including insurance), or you can pay more if you want a nicer car. Good people. Have never had a bad experience, have never been overcharged, have always been happy. I'll continue to rent from these guys. And you gotta love the talking parrot.

Was nervous about renting a car from them after seeing bad reviews but they were cheap so my friend and I went for it. IT WAS GREAT!!! The car was a 2007 Ford Focus, not an "old" car by my standards, and it ran great. We were billed exactly what was agreed upon and their customer service was good. Will rent from them in the future if I'm ever in LA again.
