Business owner was very unprofessional over the phone I was unable to speak without them cutting me off. I'm not sure what kind of business they're running but it's hard to get anything repaired without providing the device information along with the symptoms. It'd be like going to the doctor for a heart replacement and never having had a consultation discussing symptoms and treatment options. 0/5 stars if possible. Highly discourage anyone from using this business I couldn't believe how terrible the communication was.

This place is awesome and the staff is amazing. Their super knowledgeable and friendly. Matt helped me out after I cracked my Note 10 and managed to get the part and repair done super quick for a pretty decent price. You get what you pay for and this is definitely worth it. Thanks yall again.

Matt went above and beyond to try to restore data after my iPad crashed and lost all of my notes from school. Unfortunately, the data wasn't recoverable (not for lack of trying) and because the data was not recovered, they did not charge me. Very knowledgeable with good customer service- I highly recommend.

My partner and I run a marketing agency, so we have a lot of hard drives. Some are for our client work and some are for our personal work, which includes a lot of local images we utilize in our business as well. One of our 3TB hard drives was not working at all, so we took it in to see if they could recover the data from it. While we didn't need it immediately, the content on it was important to us. It turned out that the board on our hard drive (keep in mind I may be getting some of the terminology wrong, as I am not the expert in this realm) was really fried. You could literally see the place where it fried, with burn marks everywhere. It was definitely a tough job. Matt was extremely thorough in his detailed analysis of what he was going to do, and throughout (and after) the project. The initial course of action Matt tried was unsuccessful. When that didn't work, he said the best course of action to take next was to get another drive (same brand/model) and take the components from that to try and replace the parts that were not working on the original broken drive and swap them. Fortunately we had a 1TB hard drive of the same brand/model and saved the data we had on there and brought the drive to him. After some mixing and matching of multiple components from each, he was able to transfer ALL of the data to a new 4TB hard drive (and the new drive works great and was affordable). While I do not know the pricing a project like this typically goes for, I am absolutely certain that you cannot and will not find a better deal anywhere. I cannot recommend Monterey Computer & Smartphone Repair strongly enough. Thank you to Matt and the entire team, you are AMAZING! (P.S. Due to their impeccable work and the team's disposition and demeanor, I was honestly surprised they did not have a perfect 5-star rating. I immediately went and read the lowest reviews. I could not believe what I was reading--one of them got a screen replacement, then they dropped the phone again and cracked it, and demanded a new one for free, and lived out of the country!!! RUFKM!!!. Also, I happened to read a 4 star one that raved about the service they received. Then why didn't you leave 5 stars? These online rankings, particularly for an industry like this, are the lifeblood for new non-referral business for them. Be Better People!)

Took my laptop in, bought a couple years prior from the same store, because it stopped turning on. He did a battery refresh on it, which just entails removing the battery, putting it back in and starting it back up and its been fine ever since. Great refurbished laptop for an affordable price. No charge for getting it going again. Love this place.

Matt and his team at Monterey Computer & Smartphone Repair are absolutely A+. I take all my laptop issues to them - and I know they do good phone repair work too. They also helped us with a data recovery project - restoring deleted files off a drive. I recommend them to all my friends and family in the Monterey area. They are so helpful and polite. I am always treated with respect - and their prices are great. They have a lot of good hardware in stock for quick repairs. And they often will do what they can to help me solve the issue without charging. I have gotten a lot of free help from them - but pay them! They are worth it. They deserve all the great ratings they have. I cannot say enough great things about these guys. I love recommending them. Go here! They are awesome!

These guys are great. I have come here several times to have my iphone screens replaced. They are nice and friendly, honest and straight to the point. I appreciate this. My phones have been ready on-time and come with a repair warranty. Most recently, my iPhone 8 was repaired and exhibited a few ghosting issues but was outside it's repair warranty. They took a look and fixed it at no charge (outside of warranty). There are a lot of choices when it comes to phone repair places. I recommend this place. Fair, honest and they stand behind their work.

They are so great! I won't go anywhere else now. I brought in a phone in the past and they replaced the battery. It worked flawlessly after. Today I brought in a phone my friend gave me because he thought the screen was broken but they took two minutes to reset it and found that it was working fine. They could've made an easy buck but they were honest and I really respect their integrity!

I sold them my iPad Pro. The owner Matt was super nice. He runs the store with his wife. They gave me a good price despite my mess ups (my screen had cracks and I didn’t have a charger for it). I hope they resell it at a good value! Good on them.

Took in my laptop for a broken charge port. I left it there to get fixed. I was told it my take a few days since they had to order the part. Lucky for me I got a call the same day telling me they had the part in stock and it would be done in a few hours. I got it back the same day. And the price wasn't to bad. All in all it's a great place to get repairs. Very knowledgeable and professional. They take time to explain what is wrong and how they will fix your device and they also happen to be super nice.
