I had a fantastic buying experience here. My husband and I purchased a brand new outback with Rico. He was always kind, never pushy and was available when needed! He answered all the tedious questions we had and made sure we were happy. Not to mention this seems to be the only dealership around not up charging right now on new vehicles. If you’re looking for a dealer I would highly recommend RGM.

I’m not one to write reviews, but I am very upset about hearing about my mom’s experience today. The salesman told her/ was insinuating that a $40,000 car was too expensive for her, was not being accommodating or welcoming at all, & didn’t even ask if she wanted to test drive the car she wanted. Was not even giving bare minimum service. Bummer. She was ready to buy a brand new car today, but your unwelcoming salesman was the dealbreaker. Unfortunately this is the only Subaru dealer in the area. We will be taking our business to the Ventura location.

This shop just can't get work done in timely fashion. It took over a month to get warranty work completed a couple if years back. Now stuck here for over five hours when I was told it would be two. Some stuff needs to be done by a dealer or I would NEVER give my business to this place.

Completely faked my car's inspection. I bought a used 2004 Subaru Legacy from a used car dealer and brought it here for an inspection. They upsold me to the $200 comprehensive inspection. Their findings were that the coolant pump was leaking and the suspension was in bad shape. Replacing both would cost close to $3000. I took the car home without the recommended repairs. Over the next month I ascertained that there was no coolant pump leak (coolant levels never dropped, and no coolant ever appeared on the cardboard I set beneath the car). I think they just made that up. The suspension is fine—not perfect but obviously I'm not looking for perfect if I'm buying a car from 2004. A long way away from causing real problems. Here's the kicker—in their "comprehensive" inspection they completely failed to mention what was quickly discovered by the first mechanics that worked on it: 1. the engine wiring harness was a mess, tapped in multiple places and 2. IT HAS THE WRONG ENGINE IN IT. The previous owner apparently was a Subaru guy, the kind that vapes, and replaced the engine with a WRX engine, and added a bunch of custom mods (hence the wiring harness taps) which he swapped out for stock parts before selling it to the dealer that sold it to me. Hence a bunch of elusive electrical problems I've been trying to figure out since. If going for a diagnostic, I would recommend going to someone that will at least pop the hood before they quote you $3000.

I had an amazing experience dealing with Joe Ortega at Rancho Grande Motors. He answered all of my texts and emails about the subaru I ordered through them. When every single dealer in my region of Monterey/Santa Cruz was literally 5-7k over MSRP, it was a breath of fresh air hearing Joe tell me that they happily sell AT MSRP. The entire process was done either via email, text or phone calls and was one of the smoothest to date for me. We made a day of driving down, casually cruising PCH down stopping for lunch and then seeing the elephant seals before we hit the dealership in SLO. Everyone I talked to there was super friendly and they treated us like family. They get it. You treat people right and don't pressure them or overcharge and they will keep coming back again and again. I will happily drive the 5 hour round trip again to do business with them when the time comes. Meantime, anyone that asks me about my sweet ride, I tell them the story of how well I was treated and what an amazing experience I had dealing with Joe. Joe literally was just promoted to finance the day we picked up our car, but the good news is you'll ve able to meet the legend at the end of your deal. Don't waste hours upon hours of time like I did dealing with these other sub par dealerships and just call Rancho Grande Motors and get the best deal with the best service from the start. I literally can't say enough positive things about them. Joe, if you're reading this, please take me up on the offer if you ever get up this way. We'll treat you like family and do whatever we can do to make your stay a pleasant one. I really appreciate all of your hard work and attention to detail. Keep up the good work like the rock star that you are. And thank you to the owners of Rancho Grande Motors for treating your clients and employees so well. It's very clear that people like working there and it shows in thier work ethic.

Just got my first Subaru! It's a very cool looking Wilderness Outback and I love it! My entire experience with Rancho Grande was excellent too. From the first phone call, to the signing of my lease, I never felt pressured, or ignored. They are professional and nice people. Liam Redmon was my salesman and he is just sweet and easy going. He seemed to actually listen. This is very unusual in this day and age and particularly with a limited supply chain, staff issues and more....getting a car right now can be crazy. I lucked out! The car they promised came in when they said it would. The deal was seamless as they worked with my present lease end as well! So glad I chose this dealerships
