Went today to do a pick up. No-one answered the phone so I called the main store number. Was asked what space I was in but not the name until I said, "You need the name." They said, "ok." And hung up. 20 minutes later I go into the store. No one is at pick up, the service desk is closed, 1 check stand and self service is open and there are 4 employees standing in a cluster talking and laughing. When someone finally comes to help me, I'm told that they can't fix the overcharges and unwanted substitutions and I have to come back tomorrow. I ask if there is a manager who can help me and am informed that she is the manager on duty. She finally calls someone and then agrees to refund the money but that she's not supposed to because pick up is separate but there is no one in pick up to help me. This is the 3rd or 4 the time in recent weeks I've had similar problems at this store and the one on Colfax and Garrison. With the digital coupons not working half the time, poor customer service and long wait times because of short staffing, Really Safeway? You need to do better and train your staff better. How can you be a manager and not know how to answer customer questions???

I've been shopping at this store for years. I've watched the management of this store get progressively worse. There are never any carts or hand baskets available. At first I thought it was because it was a busy time for the store. I've been in this store when there were more employees then customers and there were still no carts or hand baskets anywhere to be found. On the way out I thought maybe they're outside waiting to be collected but even the outside cart spots were empty. The customer service staff here is terrible. They respond as if it's an an inconvenience to be helping you. I stood at the counter today for 15 minutes while the girl who was working looked at her cell phone. I thought maybe she didn't see me. I said hello and she looked directly at me, continued to look at her phone, and then walked away. Ten minutes later, the lady working the self checkout asked if I needed help. I told her yes and that I've been waiting over 20 minutes. She paged for the clerk and the original girl reappeared 5 minutes later. She was quite rude and continued to look at her phone during our transaction. I asked if I could speak to a manager and she just walked away. I was dumbfounded. I'll be traveling the longer distance to shop at King Soopers from now on.

Customer service at this location is lacking to say the least. I've dealt with it a few times, but most recently was at the deli counter. I waited 4 minutes for an associate to acknowledged me because him and another employee were too busy talking and laughing, despiteclesrly making eye contact with me. Then he ends up shorting me on my requested deli meats, which unfortunately I did not notice until I was in the middle of cooking. There's never carts at tihie entrance, always a long line at the registers, and many associates lack knowledge of product location.

Go here for the bakery... The bakery at this Safeway blows all of the other grocers away. Lots of fresh baked goods, bread, sweets, fresh and frozen pies. The employees here are always helpful and available. Kelsey and Ben are the greatest bakers in the state. The rest of the store is pretty typical for a Safeway. There has been a real lack of good sales lately and prices are around the same or slightly higher than King Soopers. Try to remember to grab a cart from the parking lot on your way in because recently it is common for there to be no carts inside.

For months, there have been no carts up front. Having a disability, that is a big deal! Often out of stock of most items, and rude staff that give the impression that the store will be shutting down in weeks. Was a good store, but has fallen pretty quickly.

"Unsafeway". Produce is terrible. Meat selection is blah. Expired items on the shelves. Worst of all: homeless people everywhere. They use the bathroom sink to full on bathe. I walked in the bathroom the other day and there was a guy sitting on the sink washing his feet. I had to use the bathroom so bad that I ignored it and headed to the stall, only to find smeared feces all over the walls. There is also rampant theft in broad daylight and the workers aren't allowed to do anything about it. A Wheat Ridge police officer sat and told an employee that they (the officer) couldn't do anything about the indigent with 2 dufflebags of stolen goods walking out right in front of him. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is that some of the longtime employees are absolutely wonderful people and make the rest not quite so bad.

My daughter and I visited this morning for weekly groceries. First and last visit. There were no carts and we were trying to carry watermelons so we asked for a manager. The manager came over we asked if there were any carts and were told, "No, just what you find around the store" and he walked away. At this time there was a disabled man carrying his oxygen waiting for a cart and an elderly gentleman also waiting for a cart. We put down our watermelons and proceeded to just grab a couple of things since there wasn't a cart for groceries. The inventory was very low as we couldn't find Applegate lunch meat (we buy at king soopers). We proceeded to the bakery and the "fresh daily bread" with a big sign that says "fresh daily" was hard as a rock. In fact, we knocked on all of the bread and were not able to find even one loaf that wasn't rock hard. As we were leaving we saw the disabled man with his oxygen struggling to carry a gallon of milk, his oxygen tank and some crackers. I asked if he needed help and he was very happy but very upset that there weren't any carts for him and no one had offered to help. Also, as we walked through the store we noticed carts being used by employees to stock and my daughter made the statement that there's where all their carts are. They're being used to stock instead of for customers to use for groceries. When checking out, the scanner at self service was filthy. Fingerprints on the screen and scanner. Will not return to this poorly managed store. 👎

Very clean and friendly store, staff is helpful and they have been with this employer for a long while. Their produce and meat department always have fresh and delicious products that will satisfy you, your family and friends and neighbors/visitors alike. Worth the extra drive and slightly higher prices. Good Store.

The pre-sliced meat in the deli is sliced to a bologna thickness. I have no idea why it isn't sliced "deli thin". It seems incredibly lazy. I always see the same gentleman in the deli area and have asked for fresh, thin sliced meat only to be told "It's over there". Like, I don't want a turkey sandwich with turkey that's cut to thickness of a ham-steak.

Always disappointed after going here but will go occasionally out of convenience to my location. Never enough help at the registers. I can’t remember the last time they had baskets up front so bring your own bag or be prepared to carry all your items. I wish this Safeway was ran the same way the as the Golden Safeway store. It’s shocking that there are actually good reviews for this store.
