Wish I could give a zero. We are Gold Card members, and have been for decades. Had a reservation a month or more in advance at the Middletown location. Called two days before the pickup to confirm the reservation, The morning of the pickup, received a phone call from the location that there was no care available, as apparently some had not yet been returned. Was told that we would get a call when a car was available. NEVER received a call. The 800 number put us in touch with the Newport location. Same story, same promise. NEVER received a call, and when we called at 1pm (for what was originally a 10:30am pickup), there was still no car available. Outrageous!!! We will NEVER rent from Hertz again.

I'd like to commend one of their employees named Nick. He picked me up at another shop with the vehicle I was to rent. At that place I was told that my insurance did not fully cover the rental, but at Hertz with Nick's guidance I was actually upgraded to a larger vehicle without the offer of extra insurance out of my pocket to cover any possible damages and the rental was fully covered no out-of-pocket costs. The whole process took a matter of minutes. In fact I tried to make a cup of coffee with the single cup coffee machine and was out of there before it was ready.

One week prior to my trip, I reserved a Chevy Tahoe from Hertz for a 7/29/19 - 8/3 family vacation. I was picking up from Orlando and then dropping off at Fort Lauderdale. I submitted my online payment and got my confirmation code. We landed in Orlando airport and the Hertz service computers were all down. No other car rental was having problems - only Hertz. Despite having a confirmation code, since we weren't premiere members, we were asked to wait. Premiere members were directed to pick up their cars while I waited patiently with my family. The clerk wrote up the transaction on paper, made several phone, and forty minutes from when we arrived at Hertz, we were on our way. I got to choose from 2 Chevy Tahoes. I grabbed the closest one and we left the airport. Later that evening, i learned that I did not have the key remote. While it doesn't sound like a big deal, let me tell you why it is an enormous inconvenience - you must use the key to unlock the driver door and then immediately start the car otherwise the car alarm goes off. This means that you can't open the car for any reason without starting the engine. When I called the local Hertz for a remote or another Tahoe, they told me they didn't have any Tahoes and directed me to return to the airport. (Thirty minutes round trip not including counter time - forget it) Over the next week, I soldiered through the embarrassment of my car alarm going off whenever I failed to start it quickly enough. At the end of vacation, I tried in vain to find the Hertz car rental return at Fort Lauderdale airport. I had to ask for help because it was impossible to find - even with google maps/gps. I used Hertz this one time because I had a chance to earn extra points with my Marriott Rewards. I won't ever do it again for any rewards. I'm going back to Enterprise.

I rented a vehicle from them for one day and apparently the representative there quit and my ticket aka receipt was never closed and I got voicemails and letters telling that I needed to return the vehicle or I would be facing criminal charges. I was on the phone with Hertz customer services for a week until it got resolved. Thank god Im the type of person to remember everyone’s names that I deal with. Any other customer probably would have been overlooked or dismissed.

if I could give them zero stars I would. Horrible customer service, do not Try to please customer at all. Do not keep their word, specifically the one kid who works in there. Does not try to work with customer. I am in a vehicle I do not Like or want and I told Him the day he rented it to me. His response was we can get u out in a couple days. I call 3 days later. His response now is we’re booked all weekend. I don’t have anything. Not trying To find me another car to switch into. Nothing. Horrible Customer service and will never come here again or give this horrible company money. My insurance is paying them and they still can’t suite what is best for customer!!
