I really enjoy shopping at ulta depending on what sales person helps me. Yesterday was a horrible experience. My friend and I went to the Clinique section to get shade matched for foundation and concealer. The Clinique rep rudely tells my friend to get out of the way so she can help me, even though I told her that we’re there together and both need her help. She then literally calls us “stupid” for using cerave for skincare. Telling us we need to change our entire skincare routine in order for just one product to work. I’d rather just purchase a product that works with my skin type and skincare but she was so loud and interruptive that I couldn’t explain this to her. After lecturing us for a while she gets my shade and matches it perfectly. My friend came over because she wanted to see what it looked like and she immediately tells my friend that she doesn’t have an opinion and to not say anything. This was the weirdest shopping experience I’ve ever had. I understand someone being extroverted and a little sassy, but this woman was plain rude. For some odd reason my friend got the brunt of the rudeness and I seriously don’t want this to happen to anyone else. In a store that portrays itself to being inclusive, welcoming, and nonjudgmental. She made us feel the opposite.

BAD COSTUMER SERVICE from the Clinique beauty rep that works for Ulta!! Went to Ulta today with a friend to get some foundation and concealer. We tried asking for some advice from the sales rep for Clinique as both my friend and I are new to the skincare/makeup game. The Clinique rep then proceeds to berate us for the skincare we currently use and called us stupid for not understanding how skincare and makeup work together. All while this is happening she doesn’t offer any advice other than shoving a Clinique sample pack into our hands with no explanation as to what each product does or how to use the products. The conversation was loud enough that other customers near by heard and were visibly uncomfortable by her yelling at us. A customer had approached me afterwards saying she was very confused after what she had just overheard the Clinique sales rep saying to my friend and I. This was a very frustrating experience as my friend and I were simply trying to learn more about skincare and makeup but we were met with scolding rather than education. Personally I am upset since I am a member of Ulta and a fan of the company, but I will be steering clear of the Clinique beauty counter!!

Leah at Ulta in the Clinique area super knowledgeable about skin and she helped my son get products that helped him feel more confident about his appearance. She is great.

Store was organized and clean but an employee told me I was “black fishing” by buying self tanner. Don’t know how that is considered trying to be someone of African American descent but way to make the customer turn away to a frequently bought product!

What can I say? It is a clean store and the staff are friendly. However, the last two times I visited the store I was disappointed. The first time they discontinued my kid's hair care products and the 2nd time they refused to give me the shampoo my wife ordered because my name wasn't specifically on the order. We have the same last name! Nonsense policies like these are why people shop online! EDIT: An Ulta representative replied to my review with a useless comment. As a result I've dropped my 2 star review to 1 star. Ulta, instead of re-affirming what I already know about your horrible policy, why don't you address the policy. Alternatively, please explain how a husband picking up his wife's order is causing ANYONE harm. Again, same last name. Also, the cashier explained that my wife could modify the order by including my name and THEN I could pick it up. However, after contacting my wife and sitting in the car outside your store for 5 minutes while she tried to modify the order, she gave up because she said there was no obvious way to modify the order. Among other reasons, THIS is the type of nonsense that has resulted in 2.5 stars on yelp.

The store is super clean and stocked! Ursula and Ana were super helpful! They really know their store and are knowledgeable with products and recommendations! I appreciated all their help. I would like to add that they are super patient with me even a few minutes after the store closed. Thank you for the amazing experience!!

I went in to get a simple formal style and all the lady did was put curls in my hair, which were falling out, and did not know how to do a simple setting in the middle. I even told them on the phone I wanted someone experienced before booking the appointment. This was so fustrating as it was for my event and I was so disappointed at the service I received. Do not go their for anything hair related. She also took over an hour and made my hair look extremely tacky. Not happy

I absolutely love makeup and shopping for it, but it’s a major turnoff when the customer service is bad. The cashier seemed very disinterested in helping me, and more concerned with her conversation with her co-workers over the walkie. Her use of profanity was very distasteful too... The customer service here sucks! The ladies always seem like you are bothering them when it’s time to check out. One lady even texted while checking me out. Way to make your customers feel welcomed.

I had the best experience recently at ulta. I must admit normally when I go there the customer service was terrible but this time I was approached almost immediately by an employee named Alicia who saw I was in need of help. I was looking for an eye cream and not only did she find me the perfect product (benefit eye cream) but we got to talking and she ended up tinting and waxing my eyebrows which came out absolutely amazing and then recommended a ten minute facial with the spa section in the back which was amazing as well. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a helpful and happy retail experience as I did with Alicia. A++++++!!!!!!
