I would like to order lemon cupcakes for a graduation party. I was informed that Acme does not have the ingredients and can not make them with two day notice. How does a grocery store not have ingredients for lemon cupcakes?

Every time I go in, the produce section is severely lacking. The store is clean but it seems they may be under staffed since there is usually only one or two checkout lanes with a cashier working. Went through one of those after the Fourth of July and the cashier said something I couldn't hear. After several items were scanned he told me he had no bags. (That's what I had missed.) We would have to buy small reusable bags for $1 each because he apparently didn't have paper bags either. My husband happened to be with me so he ran out to the car to get our bags. (I had forgotten to grab them.) I'm glad he was there because I would have had to spend at least an extra ten to fifteen dollars on bags with the amount of items we had. I appreciate that they are doing away with plastic but a notice on the door would have been a nice reminder.

Very old store, really needs remodel. Parking lot is a mess, not Acme fault. Developers doing alot to the shopping center to make huge improvements and more business in future. Looks like its going be really nice after completed.

Going down hill fast. For some reason they can't seem to plug in the junk electric shopping carts. I have told everyone, management on down. Have told the dude who collects the carts at least 10 times. Mike F. is on the ball with it though, goes out of his way to help. Good dude.

The guy with the glasses manning the self checkout was more interested in talking with his coworker than actually helping customers. Needed a coupon fixed and he just scanned his card and walked away. Not the first incident at this location.

Nice store got a decent selection prices are ok and do give some good coupons. My main issue is alot of the shelves especially freezer section are empty and don't have what I want more then half the time. But other times they do so it's a good place employees are usually nice and helpful but they do have like 2 or 3 that are just miserable and hate their lives but that's all places...

It's size and selection are nice, but I don't think we'll ever be back. The prices here are marked up despite the inflation going on. The expensive Shoprites and Food lions in Newark/New Castle have better prices for the same products.

This is an update from my last review, which complained about the construction. MUCH BETTER! No, construction's not over yet, but it's shifted away from Acme & that's great. Freeing up handicapped parking is a *huge* deal for me. A word about the staff: THESE managers pay attention! I've really had only one bad experience during checkout -- & she was gone by my next visit. My guy today -- *ZACK* -- was outstanding! I had an enormous order, & he was patient & careful while ringing me up -- I even got some "tear-off mfc coupons" I didn't catch on my own. His was the ONLY lane open, but he didn't rush me or make me feel like I was holding up the long line behind me. He was efficient at packing, tho his "bag boy" got called away in the middle of it. Kudos to Zack! Their staff in general is solid. There's a little woman who is top notch! She runs her lane smoothly & efficiently & is often supervising the self-checkout. I feel so calm & taken care of when she's just in the general area. The managers are especially pleasant on the few instances I've had to deal with them (at Customer Service, or checking a big bill). There's an older man who's very nice & right on top of any potential discounts you may have missed. Even the stockers will go out of their way to be helpful. These managers are A+ when it comes to hiring. Which leads me to the only problem here -- staffing. Like *everyone* in the grocery business, they are short-staffed. Empty shelves -- especially on sale items -- are a big issue. This store's selection isn't deep, so I do end up at other stores trying to fill the gaps in my order. Selling out of advertised items is too bad. It's not a "supply-chain" issue -- they're *advertising* these items. Their drastic cutback in frozen foods is actually a good idea, they just need to make sure they can speedily re-stock with more people. I see this everywhere, tho -- it's not endemic to this store. Lastly, pricing: if you haven't downloaded the ACME APP, you're *bleeding* money! I saved $76 today!!! (Saving the receipt as an incentive for future visits.) I can almost double the amount of food I buy just from the savings -- it's really incredible. I'm an old guy & don't know anything about tech, but it was easy & takes no effort to generate these kinds of discounts. Take it from me -- you'll never regret it. Too long a review, but wanted to ensure my fellow Newarkers are aware of the excellent work being done by this store. Thanks, Acme/College Square!
