Absolutely ridiculous! There is ONLY SHELF CHECKOUT! Even though they have 18 or so shelf checkout lanes they never have them all open nor do any of the employees that are supposed to help you, even help! They're just standing around being lazy.

I go inside to do my shopping at about 8am Tuesday (same day writing this), and some old lady working on the podium walks over to me and starts asking if I scanned my 50 cent bags. I explained that I’m a manager at a food Lion and I was on the customer service desk at shop rite, so I think I can handle as much, also adding the fact that it was going to ask me if I’d grabbed any bags when I paid anyways.she watched me finished my transaction very closely, and it felt extremely targeted. I had an older white couple in front of me and I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed from this situation as I was the only other customer there and clearly didn’t need assistance. Very not happy.

Neat clean well organized. Electric chairs. Pricey like everywhere. Still some savings on eggs n bacon.

Prices are good. Checkout is the absolute worst. The self checkout is impossible to complete without getting help from an employee. It kept asking me to remove items from the bagging area. Very frustrating. Hardly any human assisted checkout lines. I wasn't the only one having this issue. I don't have this problem at Acme.

According to the website, this ShopRite had the coffee that I had been searching for. I was excited and I drove there around 7:30. To my surprise, my French vanilla Melita coffee was not there. I was very disappointed 😞. A waist of gas. I drove from Newark to Stanton for nothing.

Ummmmm since when do we have to scan & bag our own groceries while all the “cashiers” watch you like they have nothing better to do? Do I work for Shoprite now? Where my employee discount? If employees are just gonna stand around maybe they could stock the shelves, clean the floors, smile, etc. extremely disappointed with the major price increases and lack of customer satisfaction. Do better! Update: Store is worse than ever dirty, rust all over the produce area near fresh food , unorganized, lines all the way to the back of the store… employees still standing around doing nothing

Way cheaper than Acme. Love the store brand green iced tea. Nice ornamental trees outside blooming. However, taking out the cashiers is a bad idea. Those were jobs that paid a living. Now, you make your customers do the work? That's not progress.

Went to ShopRite equipped with bags and knowing their self checkout is unreliable. Scanned groceries and went to pay and suddenly all self checkouts were not accepting credit cards for the third time in a row. I was told I had to then wait in the LONG customer service line. I just gave up and left all my groceries again. No more ShopRite for me! Hope the Kenny family knows their store sucks. You guys must support Biden because this store is sinking like our economy.

I give it four stars because Shoprite has been good to me for almost 15 years. I shopped at Shoprite because their prices were always the best and it was totally convenient. I am truly disappointed at the fact that their prices have increased beyond that of Acme prices, you have to check yourself out and to beat all..still pay for bags. I will be taking my business to Acme where the prices are more reasonable, they have cashiers and they do not charge for bags. I know grocery prices have increased but wow!!

It’s a ShopRite so it’s probably busy. That’s good since it means you shouldn’t find too much old stuff nearing its sell by date. But, it’s a ShopRite and that doesn’t always mean the same things it previously did. This store has been remodeled not that long ago and it’s a nice, clean, and contemporary enough environment. The parking lot is kind of a clunky mess and is a bit of a pain but it’s not a reason to go somewhere else. There was a noticeable increase in prices after the store was remodeled and unfortunately that’s to be expected as well. My problem with ShopRite isn’t specific to this store. I usually shop at another ShopRite and my complaints are the same and apply there as well. ShopRite used to be a safe bet for low prices. (Low prices doesn’t mean I still expect prices from 20+ years ago. My intent is compared to the local competitors.). Going to ShopRite used to be like going to Walmart - you have confidence that you’re getting a good or better price than if you went somewhere else. This is no longer how it works and one needs to be an educated and aware shopper.
