We paid for the reservation about two months ago and had an specific hour for pick up (MIA). Once we arrived to the rental center we found out that there were no cars available and we had to get in line to wait for a car that arrived on site. Finally, after an hour wait we got a Ford F-150 (we did not reserved this car) and got underway. The car started having mechanic issues since the start on the reservation, two days after it just did not work and we had to drive to a site to change the car (FLL). We got there and changed the vehicle to a SUV which was in a good condition. However, it was not clean, it had sugar all over the dashboard and there was no way to get rid of the sugar (it was not hidden, anybody that got in the car could notice the sugar). Since there were no other cars we drove that car, but overall the experience was not good.

I really should have read reviews before booking my rental. I reserved a car with budget using a discount code with my employer. My cost at checkout was $56. When i got to the airport to pick it up they bumped it up to $74. The car they gave me was dented and scratched. There were markings on the vehicle to indicate the scratched. There was a hole in the floor of the driver seat and the area near the gear shift had obviously not been wiped. I had the car for one day and when I returned it I checked my bank account and was charged even more money. The total price of my rental was double of what I initially booked for. Budget is a scam and they do NOT take care of their cars. NEVER AGAIN

The car was filthy inside the dash disgusting. The visor was broken every time you got in the driver side you got hit in the forehead and your view was obstructed. The car evidently was involved in an accident hood banged the front and liaised paint chipped. The windshield had bed. Replaced and the sticker of the new windshield and duct tape placed on either side of the windshield that went all the way to the front of the roof was left there. Not satisfactory.

I rented a car from Brazil through a company website, and to my surprise it was the worst experience I had in renting a car. I took a Toyota Camry car with 53k miles, full of damage to the hood, and parts of the car, internally it is in good condition, I rented it for an amount and paid almost double the price informed on the website, I stayed with the car for 9 days, in 8th day during my trip from Miami, FL ->> charleston , SC the car started to fail and the system was sending me collision and maintenance alerts. I really got the biggest fear of leaving myself on the road. In addition to being very expensive from the original $835 for 9 days, my experience was really the worst possible and on delivery at charleston airport the employee didn't even hear my assessment of the defect in the car. I do not recommend this company to anyone, I have always rented through ALAMO and never had any problems. so now I can see the difference between a good and a bad company. Completely disappointed, rental period August 11 to August 20, 2022. Run away from this company, they really don't care about us

Staff at pickup were polite and courteous. However the vehicle provided was extremely damaged (dents still had white markers highlighting the damaged areas, along with torn seats and a hole in the carpet floor). I had to spend an hour returning to the desk and provide proof of the damaged vehicle they provided ( should never have been in circulation or on the customer to have to refuse such a damaged vehicle from a reputable company)

I used Expedia to rent this car, and Budget was the lowest in mid size category. It was $30.59. I thought with the name, it will be decent and satisfactory. Not at all. Far from it. When I picked it up, I ended up with $78.84 charges. More than doubled the quote. I cannot use my own insurance, have to get the basic insurace they have. Have to use the toll, even though I don't want it either. The car was a banged-up Prius. The inside was dirty and smelly. The body of the car has a lot of dents. We returned the car with full fuel. When we got the final bill, it was $95.95. We got charged for fuel and SLI, which I don't understand and I need to call them. The lady at the counter was also rude. Overall, I don't have a good experience with this company. I will not recommend to anyone to use this company again. It was robbery and cheating. For comparison, we rented 3 days of mid-size car also from Hertz on the same week, we only charged $150.00 (and we were upgraded to Nissan Altima).

I am dissatisfied with their customer service and rental because of the overcharges, deceitful information and customer service representatives. If you are traveling from another state BE CAREFUL🚨…read the contract…especially if you deny insurance! Also, be prepared to paid all kind of hiding fees! Make sure you take picture of your gas tank!!!!! If they charged you gas be prepared to have PROOF…KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS! 📌If not you would have to provide Gas Station Name | Gas Station Address/location | Time you put the gas | Dollar Amount and How many gallons…unbelievable! I gave them two stars because “The only GOOD experience was the outstanding communication from Lost & Found” I took time to read the reviews before mine! Wao! It is a Shame! It is obvious this Budget Rental lack of honesty and customer service! I received a response from the Operations Manager…”We appreciate your feedback since it helps us improve our service and your rental experience. I deeply regret that we were not able to meet your expectations regarding your previous rental. Good news or bad, comments from Budget customers help us to evaluate our services and if necessary, change to meet your expectations” it is quite obvious they haven’t done anything to change and improve their service! Lying and provide bad customer service to customers it is unacceptable, especially when they are making a PROFIT! Welcome to Miami!!!

I usually rent from Enterprise but they were sold out this past week. When I vacation, I have a full schedule. I need vacations from my vacations. Budget rented me a dirty car!!! There was clothes, leaves, sand and all kinds of trash in the trunk to the point we could NOT use it. Trash in the arm rest and the inside reeked of smoke!!! Then, the check engine and tire warning signs came on. When I called to inform them, the rude representative didn't even bother to listen, nor collect my information. I was simply told to return it and get another vehicle. That was NOT in my schedule and a BIG inconvenience. I will never rent from them again!!!

Budget takes advantage of travelers during this time. Got a confirmation cost of 188.88 from Costco for a car in Miami airport. We get in late, agent talked fast and acknowledged the Costco price, said transponder is free and I did go with $15 a day insurance because Miami drivers are wild. Then asked to initial here, here, here and I did.. little did I realize the agent padded this ticket with incentives for him to get a bigger paycheck! He added gas surcharge of $79.00 when I said I would fill the tank. There were $15 of other misc charges.. there was a 39.00 charge for transponder when he said it was free. My total bill was $365.00 dollars NOT $188.88 as I received from Costco which included fees and taxes! Called to complain to customer service and they were rude! Claiming I signed for everything so “ too bad”. Said I had to prove I had put gas into the car with receipt and submit. Would not even talk about why agent would say transponder was free yet I got charged. Then agent hug up on me after I informed him the ticket agent was padding his paycheck with incentive and this was deceptive practice. Next day got an email from a “ supervisor” who’s aid they investigated and said the intake person said the car was NOT full of gas! I just filled it night before bringing it back and we were 15 miles away from airport. I let them know that they were lying especially intake person. So they did give me the rebate for gas surcharge but would not address the transponder issue. MY ADVICE: At Miami airport watch for the bait and switch from original price! Bring your Costco confirmation email and demand that exact price! I have filed a complaint with better business bureau and Costco over this. BIG price difference from $188 to $365! Watch what your agent does at Budget in Miami airport!

This is not the original car I rented, but the experience is worth noting. I rented a full sized vehicle and it broke down on day one. Things happen so I called customer service and roadside service. To make a long story short, the came to my hotel and picked up the car and sent an Uber to take me to the nearest Budget center for a replacement. The replacement was acceptable, but the should have taken off a days rental for the problem. I was credited a small amount for my trouble and the replacement vehicle worked with no issues. The rental process is fast and the customer service was great. I will be renting from them in the future.
