Floor 9B Primary Care, one of the head nurses for a physician on the floor is in need of additional training. I spoke to a Jonathan and asked him to address the situation and recommend additional training for this woman. This nurse will continue to speak condescending to the wrong individual and continue to make a mistake when her emotions take over her logic and her license will possibly go under review. I know personally I will be making a complaint past your patience advocate team. There was a veteran in intense pain and she suggests mental health services and a walker when the man was pleading for help. This nurse needs training on how she should not gaslight her patients and on de-escalation so security doesn't need to be phoned each time she gaslights. I don't know her name but we'll call her nurse gaslight.

A few months ago, the transportation for the veterans from the parking lot to the building went smoothly. However, today I waited for said transportation vehicle and no one showed up. I called the VA transportation and no one answered. How are people with breathing and other motion problems (without an assistant) supposed to get to the building? Also, someone needs to call the parking lot elevator technicians to fix the elevators…

If you can actually speak to a person willing to help, you have been blessed. On hold for 2 hours to fill a prescription, and make appointment with optometry. Still on hold, I'm going to be nice to the ones answering the phones, just make a callback option. Ask me what I want, call me back when you're ready. As it is now this is completely broken.

I have been utilizing the West Palm Beach VA for the past 7 years and with the exception of a few glitches here and there, my care has been exceptional. Most of the people who work here are incredibly patient and dedicated and unfortunately they hear far more complaints than they do praises- I'd like to thank all of the hospital staff for taking such good care of me. The trick to navigating the VA medical system is to align yourself with a great primary care provider - without that, you are in for a very bumpy road. I am relocating to the Tampa area next week and hope that I will have the same kind of experience that I had here.

I was up all night with a fever and drove myself here by 6:30am. I was both physically / mentally exhausted, my head was pounding and my whole body ached. So, I walked up and the receptionist, who by the way was passed out at the ER Intake, and woke her up and she had someone let me in to take my vitals. Afterwards I was put into a room, where I waited 45 minutes to be seen. I asked the nurse if she knew how much longer the wait would be and she "rudely" said, "when a doctor gets to, you will be seen." I went back in my room and waited another 15 minutes. Finally a doctor showed up. The Doctor was very nice and informative. She informed me that I needed a COVID-19 Test and prescribed some medicine. Another 30 minutes went by and I asked the nurse, if there was any updates. The nurse was even rudder, therefore, I just chose to walk out. Literally, all 5 employees had cracked smiles as I left. Now, driving to the MD Now Clinic, the VA Doctor called me and apologized and tried to persuade me to return but the atmosphere was so tainted from the disrespectful employees, that I never want to return to the VA. I went to the MD Clinic and they were very nice and welcoming. I've never had an unpleasant experience with the VA, until this day. Its sad to see how awful our veterans are treated. And then 2 weeks later.... I received a BILL! ________________________________ Additional: I appreciate the response. I called the number listed on 4/14/22 1:30PM. It was routed to voicemail and the recording stated your mailbox is full, then I was disconnected from the call...

Proud of all the people in this establishment, ones who take care of our Country's most precious treasures. Praying that the Lord watches over all who walk or wheel through the doors.

My husband had surgery at the VA in WPB today. Everyone we spoke to was professional, kind and caring. The care and attention he received was even better than other hospitals we've been to. Everything ran smoothly, on time and i was updated often by his surgeon and nurses. The nurses even offered blankets to family members In the waiting room to help keep them warm.thank you for such a good experience.

I’m a veteran who is not complaining about the VA. After leaving the military, I struggled through a civilian healthcare system for nearly 20 years. Care isn’t the right term for what was happening. Then, as a veteran, I thought I should try the VA hospital. I was quite surprised. All the complaints might be real, but one in a hundred. I’ve seen problems in every hospital, and so much less problems at the VA. So, each person may see things differently based on what they needed, what they expected, and what was available. You can’t walk in to a VA hospital like you are a king and start demanding care as if you paid for it. That’s not going to work. These are real doctors and nurses and many of them are veterans as well. Treat them with respect and you might get the help you need. They are limited to what they are allowed, by the Gov, to give you. There are way too many veterans suffering with depression and chronic pain. So, telling them of the long wait is difficult. But, if everyone in the line is suffering, no one can skip ahead. The ER can triage the most important injuries to go first, and get through fast. But the regular doctor appointments can’t sort out patients that way. Community based care is available to those who can’t wait 30 days for an appointment. Meanwhile, not every veteran is eligible for everything. Services available are based on several factors. But those veterans who come in already angry and demanding are making the situation harder for everyone. I have not gotten everything I wanted from the VA hospital. But I have gotten much better care there than I have received at civilian hospitals within 20 miles. I’ve had surgery there. I was nervous, but nothing went wrong. It’s a relief. As more and more veterans come off active duty, the VAMC will be more crowded and community care will be necessary. Veterans will be lucky to get an appointment at the VA. Though the VA health care system will still be paying, you could be seen at area hospitals that are even more limited.

I always enjoy my visit to the VA. It's the best VA medical center that I've ever visited, hands down! Expert care providers who are willing to go the distance to ensure you're in good health!
