5 Best department store in Birmingham, Alabama (AL) 2024

I like Kohl's. We arrived about 30 minutes after opening. The store was uncrowded and well-staffed. Merchandise was well-organized and attractively displayed. We were able to find most of the items on our list in the right sizes and colors. Checkout was quick and friendly. Posted sale items rang up at the posted prices. ~Steve

I'd like to think that in this time of hardship and tight wallets, that shops would perhaps take that into account instead of selling average condition brand clothing and shoes for crazy prices? I used to love platos, and make no mistake, they stock a lot of cool stuff, but the pricing? Not so cool. 3 points for excellent staff 👍 ~Deep

Worst place I’ve ever walked into!! I couldn’t get out fast enough. I bought nothing! I was afraid I’d bring home roaches or something to the hotel in the bag! What’s happening to this area is heartbreaking. It’s nasty and reminded me of areas full of homeless and drug addicts. Good lord…. Clean up the trash surrounding your building and entrance at least!!! Wish I could give Negative Stars! ~Mz

Love this Target! It is very clean and huge. I asked if they sold iPods in the store and the friendly guy from electronics went to the back and brought me one out. He was friendly and helpful. The girl selling AT&T service was really friendly also. She went and got us help and told us all about the services they have. Will definitely come back and shop at this location. We got some lunch boxes on clearance too ~S.

I went in prob abt 30 minutes before closing to do Amazon return. Employees were all very nice and helpful. I of course got sidetracked by the clearance section. I did my best to hurry because I know from working retail by the end of night you are ready to go home. However, they all had great attitudes and gave helpful opinions. Everything was priced and marked well. Found some really need one of a kind items at great prices. A cool boardgame that is based around the original " Back to the Future " movie and a neat brownie mix kit that came with its own mini cast iron skillet. My son loved both and I got both items together for under $25. That's a good deal in my opinion. I always come to this Kohl's and never had a bad experience restrooms are clean and store is well organized and clean as well. Always have great sales. Will be back:) ~Mary
