6 Best convenience store in Des Moines, Iowa (IA) 2024

I've always had good service. It's a convenient place for me to go to get things I need. The pharmacy is great. They always have my stuff ready on time and if it is out of stock they let me know and they get it filled as quickly they can. ~scott

I'm not sure if it's understaffed at the pharmacy or poor training, or both. My family and I have had nothing but troubles almost every time we have to deal with the pharmacy here. And we've only lived here less than 2 years. Unfortunately I'd love to take my business elsewhere but my insurance only covers through CVS... GRRRRRR!!!! ~Tattooed

I went to get a certain brand shampoo that was on sale and they were out of it. I find that a lot at Walgreens. They advertise something on sale but only have one or two on the shelf. And they don't put more out until the sal is over. ~Vickie

No fault of the people running the pharmacy, as this is an issue with Walgreens automatic phones in general. The company is saving time on the backs of the consumer. It takes me so much longer to refill a prescription than it did when I could simply talk to someone. There is so much extra "stuff" I have to listen to and it won't stop talking when I've said No multiple times. It's maddening! Then if I do make a mistake and say I'd have another prescription, I get in a loop that I can't get out of so my original prescription doesn't get ordered and I have to start over. At Least, if you want US doing the work for you, make it a little easier.....I'll probably change pharmacies because of it. ~Suzie

As far as Dollar General stores go, this location is very typical. The only real issues are that the building itself is too small for the amount of inventory they have on hand. The parking lot is also quite small and crumbling. The manager, Mike K. is the best thing to happen to this store since it opened! ~Jamie

I stopped at this BP due to the fact that I drive a dump truck and cannot just stop at any location to use the restroom you would think a gas station you could use a restroom but no they have it out of order but they're still open. By Iowa state law if you are still open and selling gas and merchandise one or the other or both it doesn't matter you must have a bathroom to use for your customers it is a requirement!!!! ~Kathy
