8 Best bank in Rockville, Maryland (MD) 2024

Wow no wonder so many negative reviews. I'm a Citi Priority Gold customer but it makes no difference. Awful customer phone service with a call center on the other side of the world who can barely understand a word of English and keeps disconnecting you whenever they have a bad connection, which is always, and awful service from the branches themselves. The associates over the phone will tell you to go to the bank. The associates at the branches say they can't help and it has to be done over the phone. What a real snafu. No wonder all the branches have closed. Used to like Citi. Now the name just rhymes with an apt description of how they handle things. ~E.L.

Worst drive through ever! Impossible to get to it unless you are lost at least one time making circles over and i er again until getting stuck on narrow around streets withheavy traffic. They don't have no land signs nothing. After being miserable for 20 plus minutes to find the way to get to mysterious drive through I had to lwt my gf step out of my car to walk up to them and make deposit. They refused it although we could not get to them by car. Customer service is as miserable as their drive through. ~Leo

Stopped by the other day to deposit a check and the folks were courteous and efficient - that is in line with the good customer service I have come to expect at PNC Bank! Wish all the other banks were as friendly and nice. There seems to be a PNC Bank within walking distance of each other in Rockville area - not that I am complaining but soon it may become like Starbucks - if only they were to give out cash like Starbucks doles out caffeine! ~Vishal

Not the first time and have been meaning to leave a bad review but thought it could’ve been just that one person or two or had a bad day not that it justifies anything. Customer service should always be at a professional level l, especially living in this area. These people or some don’t deserve to work there. I can understand not a reason to but I will give you the benefit of the doubt if I was rude disrespectful etc... but I pulled to the drive trough, sent my completed deposit slip and cash and never got a word from anyone. I’ve been a Teller for 3 years and our guidelines were strict and closely monitored. We had high clients YES but regardless of client class, the service should be the same across the board which is how I worked all the time pleasant customer or not. I guess this poor service also factors into how you’re raised. I was raised with discipline, thought manners etc... I hope they don’t get paid $12 for the level of service they provide. EVEN McDonald drive through says hi lol Can’t wait to close my account as the service is HORRIBLE and the fees are outrageously unreasonable. ~O

Been banking with this Bank for over 20 years. It's a small bank and they closed two locations (Germantown and Shady Grove) near me which makes it a bit harder to do transactions. However, despite this inconvenience I bank here because I love the staff. Ousman and Dawit are the best. Very friendly and attentive. I feel like I am seeing family when I am greeted by these two. I enjoy talking to them and they are so awesome and helpful. I can honestly say that the bankers I have dealt with over the years have always been great. They hire great people! ~Som

I recommend you stay away from this location at all cost. The staff and so called management are dishonest, rude, and lie to you about what they are doing. I had to reopen my checking account and obtain a new debit card, and was told that it would take up to four weeks to issue me a new card. Nearly a month later, I began to wonder if I'd ever receive my card at all, so I called Customer Service and was told that was ridiculous. Normally a card shipped via USPS may take a week to ten day, but not month. I was issued a replacement card that only took three days to arrive. In addition, in order to pay my auto-pay bills, which had been stopped, I was told that the purchase of certified checks would cost $10 each. Ten dollars to access my own money, while they setup a new account, hell no. Customer service recommended speaking to the Branch Manager regarding waving this charge. When I asked to speak with the BM at this location, I was told that the position doesn't exist. in addition she couldn't point me to the person in charge of this staff. Never, have I seen such gross incompetence, rudeness, and disregard for customer care in my life. Capital One Bank IMHO is pathetic. Take you money business elsewhere. ~S

This PNC Bank location is inside of the Giant grocery store. The location is convenient if you are on Rockville Pike and there is enough parking for the Giant grocery store. But parking can be hard to find during busy times. The mini branch and ATM is next to the entrance and is easy to spot. The visit was quick and easy! ~Vishal

Sandy Spring Bank was exceptional in handling our construction loan. Our somewhat more complex situation was handled with ease, and Eva had top notch communication and professionalism. When we had questions, Eva was responsive and clear. Our entire process was smooth and hassle free, with no setbacks. After reaching out to several banks, Eva was the most responsive and informed in showing us a clear path to closing. We felt assured the entire time we had the right person and the right bank, handling our very large financial investment, and are incredibly grateful for the positive and painless experience.
