9 Best restaurant in Akron, Ohio (OH) 2024

This is a HUGE restaurant within walking distance of the Lock 3 and the Akron Civic Theater in Akron. It is a GREAT place to eat before a show or concert. They have a good menu and very reasonable prices. They had a special on Friday of Fish and Chips for only $12 and a Long Island Ice tea for only $4. You can't beat that! The food and drinks were very good and the portion for food was HUGE. The server was friendly, polite and thorough, but the service was a little but slow. They were crowded. We were delighted and we will return. ~Sharon

Staff here are very nice and give great service. Polite and courteous. Restaurant is open for dine in and take out. Consistent McDonald's. Order taken correctly and made quickly. Food is hot. Employees are nice. This location just had a refresh of the lobby too. Easy location to drive in and out. ~Lenore

Ordered some fairly basic dishes including fried dumplings, pork with Chinese vegetables, Kung Pao chicken and wonton soup. The Kung Pao did not taste like anything I've had before... and not I a good way. It was in a thick brown sauce with no hint of kick (I did order less hot but still). The pork and veg had barely anything I'd call Chinese besides broccoli and was 40% onions (no cabbage, heart of palm, snow peas, celery or water chestnuts). The sauce was the same thick brown sauce thst was on the Kung Pao which makes no sense. There was not enough sauce to out anything on the rice. The fried dumplings barely touched the pan and were pretty much steamed dumplings that were out in a hot pan on 1 side for a few seconds. I will say the filling was good. The wonton inthe soup were very thick which made them hard to eat. Delivery took 45 minutes but the delivery guy was very nice. ~Elizabeth

You guys need to get your old staff back, these new entitled employees of yours. I’m not sure if they’re from another sheetz but these people are just rude. 4:00am on Sunday 8/7/22 was just an overall rude staff. You guys used to be way friendlier and used to be welcoming and inviting not rude and entitled. ~Tyler

To that girl that dumped Waste oil In my tater tot’s and like that wasn’t enough you punched it killing Not one, not two, but three birds with one stone. 1 -smashed EVERY SINGLE tater tot BECAUSE F… ME 2-smashed them together so much they couldn’t breath leaving them no other option but to suck the waste oil (can’t just be cooking oil that color you can see oil drops staying up top) like a wet snowball BECAUSE F… ME 3-created a new appetizer. THE ARTERY CLOGGER 3000 BECAUSE F… ME Well I don’t know what I did wrong to deserve you showing such Hard effort to prepare my food that I payed for but. I like getting breakfast here. But lately the times where the dining room opens varies. Sometimes 8am as posted other times I was told 9 or 10am. So is it up to the Manager On Duty when this place opens? The crew here is nice so I like the interaction. Otherwise always a nice experience. Also someone keeps leaving the road sign on indicating they're open. ~samuslightsuit

I think this is now 727 GastroPub. The drinks were good and so was the food. The male owner is nice enough but the female owner is not so friendly. They are a husband and wife ownership. I don't know that all of us will be back. The owners don't engage with their customers at all other than the husand is the bartender. He takes your order makes the drink and walks away. It seems as though if you aren't their friend or in their friend group, they don't want to be bothered with you. Prices are on the higher end for both food and drink. Back to Iron Grill till we can find something else local. ~Ellen

My son and daughter in law were visiting from Vermont and as we all love Asian cuisine we chose Cilantro based on the online ratings and were not disappointed. Due to food allergies they eat pretty much a vegan diet and the options on the menu were ample and the staff was very accommodating with substitutions. They loved the vegetable sushi rolls. I have to admit however that I was not impressed with the spicy tuna roll that I ordered. The fish did not taste fresh and there was entirely too much spicy Mayo that dominated the flavor profile. Spring rolls were a bit dense but very tasty! Our entrees were also tasty and quite enjoyable with huge portion sizes! ~Robin
