Sheetz

I frequently go to this sheetz and tonight i went and received by far the worst service yet. I walked to sheetz with my wife (less than a mile away) to pickup a spiked freeze for ourselves. Me and my wife were in line to get our drinks and we were next. Then a supervisor named Angie walks over to help another cashier with the line of just 2 people. She says you can step up if you’re not buying alcohol so we didnt move. She then asked did we have alcohol and i said no but we want to purchase some and she asked then what do we want. I told her we would like 2 spiked freezes. Long island and Red,white, and blue. She asked for both our ID’s and i pulled my wallet out but my wife did not have hers as she didnt bring anything not even her cell phone. She proceeded to say she could not sell my wife alcohol because she didnt have an id. I said alright i will take one red, white and blue because thats the flavored i wanted. Angie then said no because my wife was with me and no id. So now being refused alcohol i said i have a picture in my phone. She waited until i showed her and again she said no and that she cant sell it to either of us now. I said wow ok you asked for id and we showed it. I had also went to get some tobacco products so i kindly asked was i still allowed to purchase tobacco and she said yes… I said ok so i can buy tobacco still but not alcohol? I said dont i need to be 21 for both and she said she doesnt have to id me for tobacco if I look over 30. So at this point im just confused and she started telling me she is refusing the sale altogether and to get out of the store or she was going to call security inching toward what looked to be a panic button. I told her i still have some cereal straws i picked up for my kids in the store before i entered the line. She told me i could still purchase them and pointed to self serve registers. I said i cant pay right here and she said you keep arguing with me im calling security im refusing your sale. At this point i went to the self serve with my wife discussing what just happened to us because it didnt make sense. After purchasing the straws and leaving with not even half of what went went for didnt sit right with us. We felt discriminated against. Me and my wife will send emails to corporate because something needs to be done. I even asked to speak to another manager and she laughed in my face and said no that she was the highest ranking manager on shift and this was at 10:45 pm August 7th. I tried speaking to another older gentleman that I believe runs the shift sometimes and knows I frequently shop there and he didnt seem interested in wanting to help resolve the problem. Im very disappointed as i just moved here from maryland and been going to this sheetz since January and never expected this kind of service because i never have any issues in there. Something needs to be done about Angie. She was was being rude and distasteful. To end my experience i asked for her name and a district managers phone number. She pointed to her badge and said my name is Angie, this is store 115 and you can call this store. I said ok. She told me have a nice night and I responded i cant you just refused to serve me for no reason. And she laughed and smiled. I will be in contact with corporate tomorrow. ~Arthur

The Dor-Stop Restaurant

I’ve heard about the Dor-Stop and wanted to come here for so long. I’m so glad I did! Absolutely scrumptious breakfast. I cannot express the feeling of bliss I got from eating my fancy pancakes here. The two others in my group agreed that this restaurant is the bomb! It is super affordable considering the neighborhood, and like I said above, it is delicious. I’d like to shake the hand of whoever owns this place, because it is wonderful to have an oasis where I know I can sit and have excellent food for an excellent price (coming from a college student). My only critique is that I expected the potato pancakes to be savory. The potato pancakes tasted very sweet to the point I didn’t enjoy them much and had to salt them heavily. I liked that there were onions in them. I would maybe just add a note in the menu that they are sweet tasting so people know from now on. Everything else was perfect though. I haven’t watched the Guy episode yet, but after visiting, I definitely will. ~j

Subway

The same exact meals here are $3-5 more expensive than other Subways in the area. I made a point to start tracking the prices, as a chicken wrap with a drink and chips was over $16 here, and the one in Bridgeville was $11. The funny thing is that the owners work there, so you would think they would be able to charge less than other places since they don’t have to pay anyone. Instead they park their Mercedes SUV out front and charge 30% more than other locations. Won’t be coming back. ~Alexandru

Panda Express

We visited at the right time! I usually see a line wrapped around this location, but pulling in at 1pm with nobody here was awesome! The food was hot and fresh, and the lady taking orders is really nice! The honey sesame chicken and the beef were absolutely delicious! Also, the price difference between and small drink and a large is roughly 45¢ and the size of the large drink is just absolutely massive! Well worth the money spent! Definitely recommend the honey sesame chicken! Thank you so much! ~Bradley

The Pennsylvania Market

The Strip District is often considered to be the most vibrant neighborhood in Pittsburgh, and it doesn't take long after a first visit to understand why A sprawling two-story market with vendors on the first floor, a food hall on the second floor with several chef-driven restaurants and three bars (plus a wine library), and a gorgeous outdoor courtyard with even more food, vendors, and a bar. Restaurants and businesses open in this neighborhood all the time, as you would expect, The main floor has actually been open for quite some time and has larger floor plans for each of the shops. The courtyard at The Pennsylvania Market is accessible both from the entrance on 19th Street (where the stores are) as well as directly from 18th Street (where Primanti Brothers is). We had snacks, wine, and beers - had a good time. The Pennsylvania Market Has Something for Everyone – Literally. ~Sanjay

New Amsterdam

We had a good time. We happened to stroll in for a drink during Oscar Bingo which was hilarious. The bartender was really knowledgeable and attentive. We got a reasonably priced beer that exceeded my expectations. The Chocolate Chip Cookie stout smells just like the name. I would definitely check this place and it's massive beer list out again. ~Daè
