Best grocery store in Johnson City, Tennessee (TN) 2024

Went with my mother while she took her car to the car and lube Express to get an oil change. They got it done and under an hour so we were happy. We also bought a couple of things. We used self checkout. I like their self checkout area and the way they have it set up now. Where they have looks like a little snack area and then the self checkout. I like it better than the old way they used to have it. ~Jerricka

I know it is not the retailers fault for stock, or lack there of, but I must admit that I have been very disappointed at the state of their produce. When you pay extra for fresh foods, you want high quality. I haven't seen high quality at a Food City in a very long while. ~Kat

HOLY COW SO MANY SPICES! they have a lot of spices to chose from. They even have large bags of spices if you wosh to save money and buy it by the pound. The store is SUPER clean and they are veey friendly. 😊 its a 5 star store. Love you guys! ~Aaron

This Kroger location has a great selection of items. However I exclusively shop grocery pickup and the quality of the service has plummeted in the last few months. This review is for grocery pickup. I am positive they pull your order at the beginning of or shortly before your scheduled pickup window (of an HOUR). So if you arrive anytime after the start of your pickup hour, the groceries have been sitting out getting warm. I live a fair distance away so I often arrive at the end of the pickup window. This has resulted in my groceries being WARM by the time I pick them up. I have gotten sick on several occasions because the cold groceries I paid for got too warm and started to spoil (lunch meat, potato salad etc.). Substitutions are made before you even affirm or deny them. I have received substituted items that I did not want and also charged for substituted items that I did not receive. The SNAP pickup process is even worse. You have to go inside and use the self checkout to pay with your SNAP card, therefore eliminating the “no contact” aspect of grocery pickup. Awful. And feedback provided simply goes into the void. No one has ever reached out to me after a bad experience. ~Rachel
