I had a great experience with Budget in Frederick MD. Rates were lower than any other rental place. The car was new and clean, in a perfect condition. I made a reservation online and pick up took literally 2 minutes. I rented it for one week initially but needed to extend for a few day. It was easily done over the phone using automated system. The return was as easy and quick as the pick up. The staff was very nice and polite. Will definitely be renting here again if I ever need to.

Wish I could give them a ZERO! I rented a vehicle from Dulles International Airport for 3 weeks. Upon arriving at my destination over an hour away the vehicle said it required maintenance. I immediately called customer service who told me to take the vehicle to the closest Budget location to get my rental replaced. The closest location was 30 minutes away in Frederick, WV. Before I took the hour long round trip drive I call that location to confirm they could give me a new rental. For 2 DAYS they have told me they didn't have a single vehicle in their inventory. There is no way a car rental business has zero cars at any given time! They even had the nerve to ask me to take their vehicle to Pep Boys to get the maintenance done for them!!! What kind of company is this!?

If I could a zero, I would. I rented a car from the website. I was very careful to read the fine print as I knew I was going to be driving one way out of state and needed to know if there were any special requirements. The day I was supposed to pick up the car, I called to see if I could pick it up early and was notified I needed a major credit card or to run a credit check and pass it to rent the car. As someone who prefers to pay cash and not have credit, I didn't want either option. When I called Budget's corporate number they said that is not their policy and it must have been made by the individual location. As it was not stated on the website or in any of the email communication I had, I found this to be annoying and wrong as well as poor business practice.

Booked a rental car through their website, the prices seemed fair and they had the selection that I was looking for. Upon arrival the front desk associate states that they ONLY have TRUCKS available. Needless to say we had called to confirm our pick up appointment, we refused to settle for what they were trying to give us and GM walks out HOLLERING that all they available is TRUCKS 15miles to the gallon. We explained our situation we intended to travel far with the vehicle and we preferred an SUV. We told them to cancel our appointment and refund us immediately in which they replied we had to do it ourselves. We did. 3 weeks later I come to find out that the way they “processed” the cancellation was incorrect, now having to go through so many parties to get this settled is ridiculous. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere.

8.25.2021: Returned our rental with a full tank of gas at Chicago O'Hare Airport. Long story short, days later I was being bill for extra rental days as they said I never returned the car. I had to make numerous phone calls, send emails with proof of boarding pass and more phone calls. Several numbers called will disconnect as it says sorry no customer service rep is available. After calling for a follow-up I learned the car had been located. Why was I not contacted as I had an issue opened. Then I was charged over $400.00 more than the contract price for late fees and gas. I returned the car on-time and with a full tank of gas. I am beyond fustrated for the incovenience, stress and just lack of good customer service. BEWARE and get a receipt when you return the car even if the attendant says you don't need one and you will get an email.

Lack of customer service skills at this location amaze me! Don’t even try to help you . Got a reservation on line and they charged for the rental in full once I get there they said if you are using your visa bank card not only charge you more for deposit ( which I was ok with ) but they run a credit check , I did not want an inquiry and made me feels very uncomfortable, so I want to cancel the rental and they said “ just call the 1800” we cannot help with your refund “ just went to Enterprise where I never get this kind of treatment

If I could give no stars, I would! After arriving at the Frederick location with an online reservation and given the run around I realized I didn't have my credit card (that's on me) and had to go get it, they told me they would DEFINITELY be able to do it upon my arrival back, which turned out to be a complete lie! So a wasted morning, a call which I've got to make to get my money back for the pre authorization, and 3 different Lyft drivers (who were at least nice), just gotta say thanks for absolutely NOTHING, Budget! Don't waste your time with the Frederick location for sure. I hope the rest of the Budgets are at least a bit better than this l that one.

Miguel and his team were friendly and demonstrated great customer service. The first car we rented had an issue where when reaching over 40mph it would violently shake. We brought the car back and Miguel upgraded our car rental at no additional cost.
