Hertz is a scam. Overcharge on every thing. Rent a car for 6 days for $45/day. I expect the bill to be around $300 with taxes. The bill came to over $700. Not sure why the taxes was $115, then a service charge of $151. Then $255 in tolls. Not sure why tolls are that expensive.

Very poorly run Hertz location. Cars are clean and great buy only one person in the office has any understanding of a positive customer experience. He was excellent. The others have no clue about customer service and should all be fired and replaced. And no sign of any Manager, local or regional. Still chasing them for refund due. I'll use another brand and never go here again. Do business there at your own peril.

Horrible experience! Will sat got free upgrade but all the rest was aweful!from day 1 things went wrong, got charged more than was quoted, already crazy expensive, from there got worse .after 62 days couldn't renew online, last week they sent me to location to resign, then theirs as couldn't do it to extend. I got there waited, when handed keys they kept car( filled with all my things as staying motel few months) wouldn't give back, claimed had recall, then would not take my bank credit or debit card( did to pay though) but not to extend, surprise drop off of full car and disabled( still in pain) then overcharged me fees said took off and late fees by day was never told about. 1300 e☺️☺️Ra then what she said! Dealt with manager. Now left in trouble to pay motel as unexpected, lied too. Ho elsewhere! Scam. Had rented in malborough in past monthly no issues, was not this way, Hertz changed!

The car was ready and waiting for us at the promised time. nice sweet young lady named Jamie handle everything very accurate and professionally! We've got a car just like it was described in promotion, nice Infinity seven passenger SUV. Definitely will rent again from this place!

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION 0 STARS DESERVED! On the 11th of May I picked up a rental car from Newton MA Marion Hertz. My rental # was 96652XXXX. I had reservations to keep until the 18th while my car was in the dealership. On the 14th of May, Acton Jeep called me and told me the car was ready. I called Newton Marriot Hertz since the time that they were closing was close and wanted to make sure they would be open by the time I got there. The agent told me that I was authorized to leave the car at the Jeep Dealership, and they would go pick up the car. So that is what we did. We drove to the dealership and picked up our car and left the 2019 Chevy Cruze Rental there. The 18th came and went, I received a phone call from Hertz saying my rental was overdue. I informed the guy I dropped it off at the dealership on the 14th of May. He stated that it was ok, they would pick it up and reimburse me the remaining balance… I then received a letter saying my car was overdue. I called the number on the letter, and we discussed again that the car had been left at the dealership on the 14th of May… I provided the head mechanic’s name at the Jeep dealership who would verify that the car had been left at the dealership. On the 15th of June I noticed a charge from HERTZ for $1052.08, I called Hertz Customer service and opened a time dispute. (Dispute # 1099XXXX) I was told that it would take 5-7 business days, so on the 25th I called and was informed I was told the wrong timeline. Please wait 7-10 business days. On the 1st of July I called again… NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO MY CASE…. I was told that I would have to wait another 7-10 business days to receive a refund, and that they are waiting on verification I really did drop my car off on the 14th of May… If my case had been worked, Hertz would have already known I returned the car on the 14th of May. They could have verified it with Acton Jeep Dealership… but NOTHING has been verified. This is unacceptable. it is now 24 AUG! I HAVE YET to receive the refund of $825. I have tried reaching out to other locations and requested the Regional manager call me, but still nothing...

When a windshield crack developed on my Hertz rental vehicle, Drazelle at this Marriott Newton, MA Hertz location was incredibly helpful and informative in providing me with a replacement car. This after getting no help nor responses from other Hertz locations, including the Manchester NH airport where I initially picked up the car. Great customer service from my experience.

Would give zero if I could. Booked a rental over a month in advance and when I went to pick up the car, they denied me because I didn't have a credit card and my debit card was not accepted. Not sure why it's even required after my rental was already pre-paid in advance. Words cannot describe how angry I am about this. Would have been really nice to know about this requirement when I booked so I could have taken my business elsewhere at a more convenient time. Now I'm trying to book another car rental the day of leaving for vacation. Plus now Hertz wants me to pay a cancellation fee. Worst car rental company in the world. Avoid at all costs. Edit - added bonus as I try to cancel the booking. The website is down and if I want to talk to them on the phone, I need to pay ~$40 to talk to someone. Is this a real business? I feel like I've been scammed. Literally never had a worse customer service experience in my entire life. Please do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to do your business. Hertz does not deserve a dime.

Waited for almost an hour for someone to show up to pick up the car. There were 5-6 other people waiting as well, one of whom had a similar issue on a previous trip. No one was there when I returned it either - luckily there is a drop box. Both times were during listed business hours. Car was great and there were no other issues, but would be an issue if someone had a schedule to meet

Checkout was not a problem. The staff was friendly and helpful. Returning the car has been my worst rental car experience. They are closed on Saturday. So, we returned the car and put the key in the drop box. I didn't think much of it until Hertz left me a voicemail 6 days later asking that I return my overdue rental. HUH? I checked my credit card and I have pending charges of about $100/day for 6 days. I called the location and they confirmed that the car is in their lot and said the pending charges would be dropped. Two days later the pending charges are still on my card, plus two additional ~$100 charges. I called Hertz (the parent company) and their suggestion was to email customer service... where the goal response time is 3-5 days. Unacceptable. I will pay extra to rent from a (non-Hertz) 24/7 location in the future.
