Other market closed. We land at this one. One cashier-type lane open. Trying to make it out fast. Go to self checkout. Had lots of groceries for dinner. Clearly not used to the “weighing-kind” of self-checkout vs. the machines that do not make you weigh after scanning. Announcements. Store closing in 15 minutes. Store closing in 15 minutes. Machine keeps beeping for “weighing machine/self checkout overseer lady” to come over. Machine thinks we’re not placing frozen dinners correctly. Our scan-to-placement timing is clearly off. Machine keeps beeping. Sweat is pouring. Pouring from foreheads. Paper bags falling. Overseer tries to do same thing over and over again. Says they’re programming won’t allow them to help. We’re getting anxious. Manager “Paul” comes over. Patronizes. “Patronizing Paul”. Says machines are clearly not meant for this much food. Puffs chest. Orders us to go to cashier. We are more upset. PP gets literal. Tells us we are not relevant. Gets confrontational. Very frustrated now. Problem not solved. Manager walks away. Flirts with Overseer. We finish. Overseer says have a nice day to other customer leaving. Ignores us. I hope some of that was simple and clear for you, Stop & Shop. Some pointers: do not get "personal" with customers when they start to get upset. Say “please”. Say “I understand, let me help you with this”. Commiserate. Comfort. Empathize. Be polite (manners are free). Keep away from imperative tones. Oh, if the customer is clearly frustrated/angry/upset - please, oh please, refrain from antagonizing them further especially by making them feel stupid. The list could go on and on. I'd like to blame it as a one time thing, but we got the impression it was common. Yes, the store is closing and you’ve had a long day; yes, you want to get home and relax, etc, etc; yes, some of us customers can be rude, irrational, and stinky, but that does not mean you are given some sort of free pass on how to do your job. We come to buy food/groceries at a nice price, and go home happy (or at least no more or less happy then we were going in). Oh, some eggs were cracked. Go figure.

The people who work here get 5 stars out of 5....But giving this store a 3/5. There is never normal cream cheese in stock at this location for some reason. I never see this stocked out at other locations. Also, the exit door on the north side does not work forcing me to walk <6 ft close to anyone entering.

I am so impressed with what the store has done to its floral department! I stopped in for a bouquet of flowers and was stunned at how elegant the Halloween, Thanksgiving and Hanuka arrangements are!. I have made your floral department my go to florist and have told all my friends. Thank you for the professional look and availability.

Oh my goodness gracious since the other Stop & Shop closed on Route 9 this one is robbing people blind. The prices are crazy outrageous. $24 for chicken...No thank you

The new florist in the flower department is amazing. When I didn’t see any more of the decorated fall floral pumpkins in the store, she offered to make me one on the spot, even asking what color and kind of flowers I would like. Below is a photo of the finished project. It’s adorable, and I know my mother will love it!

I’ve been here several times and find the store well stocked and clean. They have ample parking, although I wish they had more shaded areas for the summertime, other than that its fine. They have a nice healthy / nutritious food area, that usually has a good selection. Overall the stores in good shape, and I like shopping there.

Because the manager Refused to shut off a noise deafening vacuum even though no one could hear anything and it was hurting me, a hearing disabled veteran. Also I scanned my rewards card: but your self check out is preprogrammed; per the attendant; to use the store rewards card. My gas rewards didn’t print on my receipt so I had to go to customer service to get it fixed; they hand wrote my gas rewards instead of printing a new receipt to prove I really got credit on my rewards card. I was extremely disappointed in how I was treated at this store and I shop a number of different grocery stores and this was definitely one of my top worst experience. Apparently Stop and Shop doesn’t care about Veterans.

New manager has completely turned this place around, every thing is better😁 Great job! Easy to get in and out of, easy parking clean and neat. Also, Marshall's right next door. Very close to liquor store, home goods, restaurants and shopping. Right off Rt 9 at Lyman Street.
