Location called to say one day prior that the reserved car is not available at the time I had asked for booking. They said they cannot do anything since the Hertz reservation system is problematic. So if you book a car for 9am and if the previous reservation would be dropping off that day, then they cannot guarantee the car would be available on the time of your reservation. It could be dropped off at 11pm, and they said they can't control it. I don't know if this is a Hertz problem or this franchisee location problem. They just threw their hands up and said we don't have anything else. Extremely poor experience!!!

NO ONE AT THE COUNTER. I had a car reserved to be picked up at 4pm on Saturday. I arrived at 4:10 and the counter was closed. WTW! If i come at 3:30 I might get told that the car is not there yet because my reservation is for 4pm. It is one thing for a computer chatbot to give you poor service, But presumably there was a human being at the counter, who had my cell number and email. At one second past 4 when I had not shown up did they bother to attempt to contact me, or were they too busy at the counter? Never again.

I had a very good experience renting one way to Syracuse. Counter opened on time, short queue, quick pickup. Car was OK, had some sun damage on the black trim, interior was nice and clean, AC worked well.

The gentleman at the front desk was super polite. Service was excellent. Honestly I was sceptical at first, I normally book through Avis. Since Avis was closed I booked through hertz. If I come back here again I am booking with these guys.

I’m a Five Star member and this hertz is trash. Charges a “late fee” if you are even 30 mins late. No customer service whatsoever.

Their qualifications to Rent a vehicle changes person to person depending on how you sound on the phone! My friend called 20 minutes before I did but what he told her was different! We are the same age! But I was told I needed at least 4 more things than He told her! They even asked for proof of insurance and a paystub!

Beware of fraud at this location! I rented a car for a one way trip, drop off in Ithaca. When I arrived I dropped the car off in the lot a day early, took a photo of the odometer to record the mileage and left the key in the drop box. A few days later I got an additional charge for $294 and a rental receipt that stated the car had been dropped off one day late, in the wrong city, and with 300 miles more than in reality. I suspect the Ithaca branch didn't register my return and then rented the vehicle to someone else, and I was charged for that person's rental when their car return was recorded. This should have been easy enough to figure out and fix, especially with my location and time stamped evidence of my return. However Duke, the extremely rude and condescending man at the Hertz desk, refused to acknowledge the error and also berated me for not being "adult enough" to have written the mileage down on the rental paperwork at dropoff. I suspect he is used to dealing with college students who don't know any better than to let him get away with this fraud. I will be reporting this branch to BBB and also to Hertz corporate. Avoid this location at all costs. If you do rent here, make sure you confirm your return in person and do not use the key drop off.

We recently needed a rental car while our car was being repaired after an accident. State Farm, the company of the driver who hit us, was supposed to make the arrangements. We waited for hours at Hertz for State Farm to complete the transaction. Duke, Hertz employee, was so helpful and really advocated for us. State Farm was really inept. They told us we were getting the same size car as ours, but approved a lower price. Hertz had reserved the car State Farm had ordered and didn't have any others available. Finally, Duke and his supervisor just gave us the car knowing that Hertz may not be getting the correct payment because of State Farm's incompetence. Hertz did not want us to be responsible for the higher fee and got us on our way. Thank you, Duke and the Hertz team!!!

horrible service and overcharged for rental for no reason. avoid Towed charge all costs I need my money back !!!!! I have insurance but still charge me towed price my account. The customer service issue The customer service people very unprofessional they rude me and Hang up the phone for hang up 4 time .one can call me back Worst rental place in history. The employee working was extremely rude and unprofessional. Like the previous review said, if I could give them a 0 I would.

I’m not a fan of Hertz Corp, but the employee Duke was phenomenal and helped me when the Corp would not. He made sure I got home and help me figure out what no one could do for me on the phone. I highly recommend this branch if you are in Ithaca as they will handle You with amazing care and service. Thank you again!
