Total Contruction did a number of jobs, both inside & outside of our home. Our house is tall and sits on a hill, so working on the exterior isn't an easy task, but the folks working with Total Contruction made it look easy. They replaced bad wood on the exterior of our home. Then they power washed & painted our home. They removed the old gutters & replaced them with wider gutters that included a gutter guard so we wouldn't have to clean them in the future. They also replaced our shutters. The outside of our home looks so much nicer now. I had already painted many rooms in our home myself. However, I didn't want to attempt the stairway walls or the tall front entrance. In addition to painting our ceilings, Total Constuction also painted all of the difficult interior walls. Communications were great. They were timely & professional. The folks who came to our home to do the work made it easy for our family to live in our home even while they were completing the jobs. They cleaned up everything each day when they left. They covered and cared for everything so no paint would go where it shouldn't. They did a fantastic job. The price was very reasonable. I actually spoke to three different contractors. I am so glad Total Construction did the job. I highly recommend them & would defiantly use them again. Dale, Michael & the rest of the team helped make our house look amazing!!

BEWARE.. One star is one star to many.... they started work on my house after Florence, I posted a review on their Facebook page,I can't find it now. He is advertising for insurance work after Dorian. BEWARE.. We were out of our home for 9 months, he blamed the insurance company. We are senior citizens, my husband had severe medical problems, we moved 14 suitcase moves because they did not complete our job in a timely manner. Dale Lands was never at our location, they would say they would be there and not show up. They quit answering the phones because they said we complained and never said Thank you. HELlo!. Their contractors put our drip edge on wrong, damaged the gutter and left a mess in our attic, and now we find a leak in kitchen and the ceiling will need replaced. Before the leak, a contractor's estimate of 5500.00 to fix and replace the drip edge and gutter. They were paid in advance for countertop/installation, ceramic and installation. They had all the money the insurance paid us except for some supplements which is in escrow at this time. An inspection will be made before it is released. They did not order the top for us to get into our house by May 19th (we could not find anyplace to move beyond that date, we are in a tourist town). I ordered and paid 5350.00 for the countertop. I paid someone else to come in (5000.00) install ceramic, remove and reinstall kitchen, handles were crooked, refrigerator, microwave, DW and Range were all installed incorrectly. Stove and microwave were dangerous. They damaged our refrigerator, left messes, my floors were not finished correctly, the paint job was lousy, they billed my insurance company for 2nd coat and my DIL came to visit and worked on correcting some of it. Still not a good pant job. I think kitchen ceiling not painted, primer only. They had the audacity to reply to the AG they stopped the job because we owe them money . HELLo! They texted us they had scheduling problems... We asked for invoices, warranties and received nothing. I could go on and on, they have not attempted to get in touch with us since they texted May 31, with scheduling problems (text on Jun 17 to ask me to check on a delivery from Lowes not my job,) Texted to GM we had electrical issues on May 31, asked for electrician to return or call us, Reply was "They Are on the switch, I think". Switch had no power. Duh!! The anxiety we endured with Dorian, knowing our house is not "buckled down" from Florence. End of story. If you sign on with them, do not pay in advance, get their insurance carriers name, number, get their contractor number, have lists of everybody that works on your property. I did not receive any of this. Pictures, document everything, keep all e-mails and texts. God help you!

Total Construction was suppose to fix some siding on my house after Hurricane Florence. We’re talking about a 8 x 12 ft section. They let it sit & rain in the side of my house for 5 months. Their reasoning was because they couldn’t match the siding. They have a total home center but couldn’t match the siding. I hired someone else & had it fixed in one week. I should’ve known something was up when Tom came out the first time & didn’t even have a tape measure & was trying to measure the missing siding by walking off steps. Please be very aware of this company. I’m not sure why they’re in Emerald Isle trying to pick up jobs when they’re 3 hours away.

Be careful!!! I never leave reviews but after my experience with this company and its Owner Dale Lands I felt obligated to let people know. They try to over bill you, make up bogus charges, offer no written explanation for billing, they make up repairs that do not exist and try to charge you for them with no proof. Then threaten you with a lawsuit and lien against your property if you do not agree to pay. Don't return calls or emails. The list goes on and on.

Contacted Total Construction to put up mosaic tile planks above our fireplace. Very knowledgeable and skillful for this project. No complaints. These guys can do anything. My fireplace looks amazing!! Will definitely be contacting them for future projects. Thanks again, Patrick & David!

Total Construction has been my go to for everything from completing a 3rd floor bonus room that is absolutely beautiful, to a new roof, garage door, siding and gutters after a hail storm to smaller repairs. I highly recommend. Professional service and always in a timely manner.

My toilet overflowed and flooded several rooms in my home, Total Construction came out immediately to provide emergency services. They took care of all of the insurance claim paperwork and upgraded my home from carpet to lvt. My family is extremely happy with the services and expertise total construction provided.

I've been waiting over 6 weeks for estimates that were promised to me that Friday. Tom came out to the house and we talked for about an hour about plans for the house, I guess we were just wasting each others time. After several emails and two phone calls I finally emailed them and withdrew my request. They probably do a great job, I'll never know.

Absolutely terrible experience. Had these guys redo my roof a while back, and while they seemed to do a good job, they started a week later than quoted, it took 3 days longer than they quoted, and when they finished, they left close to 20 pounds of nails and debris around my house. I still find felt tacks to this day. After cleaning up the mess myself with zero compensation from them, the roof seemed to be fine for the next couple of years until it started leaking a few months ago. I contacted them via email and phone multiple times, and my wife even called a couple of times. Each time, I was assured that someone would be coming to take a look at my roof, but after weeks of this circus, no one ever showed up, and they stopped responding to my calls and emails. Get your work done elsewhere, by someone, anyone, at least willing to give you the time of day.
