Cathy was super nice and friendly. The Food was so delicious! I'd say it's a 'bucket list' item. I know Ruth Ann and I will return.

Tuna melt on sourdough, buttery goodness. The pecan pie, not what I expected from a hometown cafe, it seemed store bought. Super friendly service though and a quiet, relaxed place for lunch.

Martin and Linda's daily lunch adventure took us to Salado for a remembrance tour of some very quaint antiques shops. Cathy's was like mom's kitchen as a kid and so were the sandwiches. What was so unique about the place was being serenaded by a very loud cricket under the freezer unit.

They’ve been in business for over 27 years, is what our waitress said. All that time serving the same items. I caught her off guard by asking what the my popular option was, but she settled on the turkey and Swiss grilled deli sandwich. That’s just what my daughter ordered and loved it. It looked fairly small to me though… literally maybe one or two slices of turkey on regular white toasted bread. Nothing spectacular… if we’re being honest. I ordered the fried chicken and cream gravy entree. Again, small portion of meat and nothing spectacular.

Cathy waa super friendly and accommodating. The prices were surprisingly affordable! She packed everything to travel well. The food was not only easy to st in the car, but delicious. I am going to make the drive to her cafe just so I can eat in one day!

I just want to say. I have done a good amount of travelling and this is the best burger I have had in a really long time. I am thankful I found this place and was able to eat here.

I had the fried chicken. Seemed like a frozen, pre cooked tiny chicken breast. Very dry and VERY bland. Don't think the potatoes were real and the green beans were awful. Reminded me of the food served at a hospital. Service was okay and the place was clean. Won't be back.

Family staff was nice but slow, 15 minutes to get water, 20+ to order. They need to hire more waitstaff. Food was definitely from frozen instead of fresh. I ordered a chicken cordon sandwich. Chicken only covered half the bun, frozen chicken patty, cheap lunch meat and definitely fries from a bag. Daughter ordered a burger with much of the same results. Thankfully, they actually have to use fresh veggies or I think they would be using frozen if they could. I try my hardest to support family owned business but this place is like a school cafeteria and not a real restaurant nor passion for food and cooking.
