I brought my bike here from DC because I read such good reviews - and they didn’t disappoint! Incredibly fair prices and very personable, knowledgeable customer service. This is my new bike place!

Fantastic service! Kemp was extremely helpful when my daughter in college recently had messed-up brakes. He got the bike all fixed up promptly and riding more smoothly than ever before. Would absolutely use this shop again: good prices and great service.

Was pretty disappointed with my experience today. Wanted a set of tires for my dad's bike to surprise him so I was given a set of tires I was told were the same but were actually not as wide. Upon installing them one of the tubes burst at 26psi outside the shop when the tubes are rated to at least 60psi and was told it was my fault even though the old tubes went back on and worked fine. Wound up returning everything I could, pretty big waste of time.

Great service! Gave me good options at different price points for new tires - and installed them while I waited. Super helpful and now I'm stoked to get out and ride.

Just wanted to say that the first time we used them, no issues and all was great. This last time we dropped a bike off for minor issue and was surprised that we had to call them from outside (couldn't go in because of covid) and was told it would be a few days and probably Tuesday after Memorial Day. Didn't hear anything Tues. so I called on Wed. Was told they were so busy because of the weekend and they'd get to it as best they could. Got a call to get it Thursday and husband picked it up and paid. When he got home he tested it and found that the left shifter was very hard to move, so I brought it back Friday and was hoping they could fix it fast as we'd already been waiting longer than expected. I understand busy....but at least tell the customer that it's gonna be awhile so they could take it elsewhere if they want. (Grips installed was $21, which seems high for a cheap kids bike!) Was told adjustment would be done Saturday but we didn't hear a word...again. So Monday I just drove there to pick up the bike. Called them and stood outside waiting for them to bring the bike out. Was expressing my feedback/suggestions to the nice guy that brought the bike out when another customer drove up and decided he need to tell me to "be polite and wear a mask." We were outside. I didn't appreciate being bullied by another customer, and the employee did say "I'm sorry" so I guess he was embarrassed too. A little communication would have been nice.

Called that morning and discussed what I wanted. Drove an hour to get there and found the staff very helpful in spite of the current COVID19 regulations and bike shortages. We had to do the whole transaction outside of the store, but I was able to ride a couple of bikes around. The staff was very honest and helpful as I was trying to decide between two very different bikes with very different prices. This was the only shop within miles that had a bike that I was looking for in stock. I highly recommend them for your bike needs.

First time customer at the shop and worked with Brett. He has a wealth of knowledge in road and triathlon bikes and the sport itself. He was extremely helpful in taking the time to find the general bike frame that would fit best for me. He let me test ride several sizes to ensure proper fit. I will definitely be going back and recommending to others.

I have been a patron of this place for over 10 years and I would not choose any other place to buy bikes for me and family. The staff has gone out of their way to help us so much so that the owner even came to my home at the beginning of this covid pandemic to pick up our bikes from our home, serviced them in the shop, and brought them back to our home for us. Another thing I love about them is their involvement with the community. From maintaining local trails to hosting group rides, Blackwater Bikes gives back to the community in a way that many local shops do not.

Awesome, helpful staff. Great array of tools and parts. They even carry high end carbon fiber components for most disciplines of cycling. Bike prices range from around 700 dollars to sub 3000 or so dollars. This is normal for local bike shops. Services are reliable and competitively priced. Also, the bike rental program is a wonderful way to try something new. The staff is super excited about cycling, so they're always eager to help and talk cycling.
