I have been living in Alameda for the past 3 years. My experience at this post office has always been very pleasant. They have been efficient and courteous. I was little surprised by such low rating.

Animal interference? I don’t have a pet or my neighbors for that matter. I was working in front yard. Lying about attempted delivery.

People delivering at night are unprofessional and reckless drivers, I assume it is because they are exempt from tickets. You can’t double park at lunch and go wherever you want or pull up to people while they are in the crosswalk. Do better.

I've been to this post office 100s of times. Good or bad customer service depends on who's working. There's free parking, it's in a shopping center, and the lobby/kiosk is available 24-hours. Only neg, sometimes homeless people come to the lobby late at night. So check who's in the lobby before entering.

This is my favorite post office in the Bay! I’ve been coming here for years and the people who work here are wonderful; always kind, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable in my experience. While I would never expect perfection, I have yet to have a bad experience here. Even when there are lines they tend to move quite quickly. The negative reviews are, I’m sure, coming from the few unfortunate situations that are bound to crop up here and there throughout the years. People are just much more likely to go out of their way to comment and rate a business when an adverse event happens VS. a positive one. Please keep in mind that for each of the negative reviews, there are hundreds of customers, I’m sure, who come in and out of this store every day with ease and a good experience. We just don’t tend to “write home” about those as much as we probably could ;) Big THANK YOU to all of the staff here!

Unfortunatly the hospitality and their professionalism has been very inconsistant lately. The post office was polite and sincere within my first few mail pick ups but lately, in within the last few months, they have become very uncooperative and indeliberate with they're service. Disappointing that the atmosphere has changed alot and wish that the employees are doing well. Hope to see those kind faces again like before 🙂. I will continue to pick up my mail here due to personal constaints. Positive change will come and still believe in them.

Recently a package delivered to me here was on hold mail because i was on vacation. This package disappeared under their watch. I believe it was stolen by a staff member there. Tracking shows they received the package and had it but when I went to pick it up, it was gone. DO NOT TRUST THIS POST OFFICE! Never have anything of value held by them. This is the 2nd time a package sent to me has disappeared thru their service.

Alameda Main Post Office has plenty of free parking, polite and knowledgeable staff, a self service kiosk. Easy wheelchair access.

Most unhelpful workers inside the building. I needed to ship a gift to my mom for her birthday in a few days. I’m not visiting her right now since we’re in the shelter in place. I walk up to the next open worker and tell her I want to shop the gift bag I have. She just points to all the boxes and giant envelopes and says “you just....”. She couldn’t even complete her words or say try grabbing such n such size. I didn’t feel like filtering through all the various sizes and some boxes cost different amounts for shipping. I pick out the box and go back to the same worker. She said “now you need to pack it and tape it.” I asked if she had the packaging tape and she says no. I didn’t know USPS employees don’t help customers like UPS does with proper packaging, taping, and selecting the most appropriate delivery option. It wasn’t even busy so she had zero excuse to not help (one other man was already being helped and then me. Did she have some place to be or just wanted to do nothing while at work?) No wonder USPS is always hiring. They’re nasty people that can’t smile and have zero customer service skills. UPS will be getting my business from now on.

Mailing a package would seem to be a high priority tasks for a post office. But this post office makes it as difficult as possible. either the line is so long that you will be here half a day, or the equipment isn't working. Choose your dysfunction.
