I’ve been meaning to leave this place a review for a year now. I took my Prius here for 100k service + to fix my front window sprayers, which had stopped spraying for over a year. I’d tried my best to unclog them myself to no avail. So imagine my surprise when instead of just replacing both and moving on, they managed to unclog one without the need to replace it. I was so stoked — obviously it saved me money but also better for the environment not to replace something if it can be repaired. It was such a no nonsense and hassle free experience, honestly my first as a young female going for car service (example - the dealer has, twice now, suggest I replace my “dirty” cabin/engine air filter literally days after I replaced them myself). I just really trust the TLC team and look forward to bringing my Prius here for the rest of its life. Thank you so much!

If you own a Toyota or Lexus this is the best place in San Diego to have repairs or even routine maintenance done. They do excellent work and stand behind their repairs. I'll never tale my vehicle anyplace else to have work done on it. And, by the way, they were recommended to us by a local Toyota dealership's service advisor.

Always a great experience! I've had some bad experiences with auto mechanics in the past. Not here. I've come here for years and feel like my Prius is in competent, honest hands. I drive my cars for many years. TLC helps me maintain my car with a reasonable cost.

2nd time using their services. They do EXCELLENT WORK!! They take the time to thoroughly inspect the vehicle, and make recommendations for improvement. Toyotas and Lexus vehicles are very reliable, but when parts need to be changed, it's essential to maintain reliability. This company is not as expensive as the dealer, but it is every bit as good. This is the second timing belt replacement on the same vehicle, so more parts were needed this time...cam seals, crankshaft seals, tensioners. They also found a marginal radiator that need to be replaced after 16 years of driving. All of this work was done, and the car still works beautifully... I'm sure I would have paid considerably more at the dealership, and I'm happy about that. The car was ready the same day, which is absolutely amazing. Respectfully......... Thanks TLC for excellent service. There are 3 Lexus vehicles in this family, so you'll get more business as it is needed.

It's like going to the dealer without the feeling of being overpriced. These guys are honest, helpful and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right. I have 4 lexus vehicles and they're the only ones I let service them. If you're tired of paying too much but want an honest shop that wont use cheap aftermarket parts, go to TLC you wont regret it.

I went to TLC Auto because of the great google review ratings. Cons: I parked my car on the street. Upon returning to pick my car up (I did not pay for service here) my car was in the exact same location. My car seat had not moved (I am under 5' 2"). However, I was informed my car was pulled into the back and diagnosed (in the one hour they had my car). I called ahead and was told not to wait for my car to be diagnosed. It would be diagnosed in 2-3 days. I offered to wait at a near by coffee shop and was told my car would not be seen within the day. As I headed home they called me after an hour letting me know my Prius battery needs to be replaced. (They are booking maintenance 2-3 weeks out). I left multiple engine performance issues written down (& left historical maintenance) and asked if other issues were looked at. I was told no, the only issue is the hybrid battery. TLC Auto wanted $115 for this diagnosis (Auto zone told me the same issue for free). Pros: Contact Green Bean Battery (greenbeanbattery.com) and they will come to your house and replace your Hybrid battery. They also take your old battery for you. They were less than half of what TLC Auto repair quoted me for a hybrid battery (life time warranty & replacements). Green Bean Battery is very professional, polite, and quick. I am always weary of car mechanics, but I had to bring my car in with an unexpected repair and i was pleasantly surprised. They were cordial, knowledgeable and fairly priced. The repair ended up not being very expensive, but they never once try to upsell me with additional minor repairs that I know the car needs.

Best place ever! We are never going anywhere else! We were past customers, and always absolutely pleased, but with hubby out of town, I decided to have a repair done at a local dealership (because of loaner and also was the type of new vehicle we were considering). After 3 visits, it was still not fixed, and cost more money than I care to admit. Decided to have one last shot before donating it (too old to spend any more money on) and TLC came through big time! They fixed it while we waited for $100! Huge thanks to Jim, Mike, Fred and others! You guys are the best!
