I was terrified my stuff would never arrive, because of all the terrible reviews I read, but I got everything shipped from coast to coast in good condition with no missing items! I did pack my own things with heavy duty boxes and extra bubble wrap, as I was shipping a lot of fragile items. I also bought extra moving blankets for my furniture. The reason I’m not giving a 5 star review was that the company did a horrible job communicating when my items would be picked up and dropped off. On the pickup day, the movers came about 2 hours late, and I couldn’t get in touch with them until they arrived. My drop off ended up being 24 hours late, and I was unable to get in touch with the delivery people for many hours. Nevertheless, my stuff did come in very good condition, the price was cheap, and I am satisfied with my move!

I was at up with these guys through a broker who told be 3 to 5 days to deliver my furniture from CA to AZ, Best movers picked up my stuff on Friday and I expected it to be delivered the next week, Monday comes and now they are telling it could be up to 21 days, I said I’ll come get my stuff from your warehouse then (didn’t even ask for a refund), nope we have 21 days. How ridiculous, just give me my stuff so I can have a real moving company deliver it in a reasonable amount of time. Lesson learned, don’t deal with brokers and only use companies with good reviews. The broker never identified him self as a broker, nor did he tell me they were going hire a out side contractor with 60 something negative reviews.

WORST MOVING COMPANY EVER! AVOID AT ALL COST!! I got subcontracted to best moving van line with a broker. I moved from CA to NY. They picked up 15 boxes of mine. On the delivery date, they only delivered FIVE OF MY ITEMS out of 15. It’s been a month since the 5 boxes of mine are delivered, and the rest of the 10 boxes ARE STILL NOT DELIVERED. I cannot believe they lost 2/3 of my items on the move. I am in the process of contacting them and asking them to keep finding the rest of my items by any means. Please don’t make my mistake and contract with them. Will seek legal action soon.

Next time I'll just move everything myself. If you are considering this company/group to help you with moving, like I was a month or two ago, please don't think "Oh well I need to move regardless of all the other 1 star reviews" don't be like me, do not use this company/group. We have items "missing" from our move, even though they'll simply check everything off the inventory list. I "lost" thousands of dollars in equipment, nearly half of what I paid them to move my things and my family's things, and I probably won't be compensated for any loss. Please, if you're reading this, do not move forward with this company/group. It is not worth the risk no matter your reasoning.

Terrible experience. The name could not be more of a joke. Best Moving was contracted by a broker. They picked up my belongings on June 1st and it is now June 27 and I still don't have my goods. Their customer service has been useless-- I have called three times asking for an update and there response is that they have to talk to dispatch. Eventually I learned that my goods have not left california. Read the many reviews about this company-- this is a pattern. DON'T use this company!!

Like many others on here, I ended up with this company through a broker. Communication was very good all the way to the day of the move. On the day of the move the workers were great and hard working. They were not a part of the issue. I paid in cash(I've since learned, don't ever do this with a moving company). Like others, the price increased on the day of the move but not astronomically. I believe it was around $300. I was fine with this. After all my stuff was picked up, they gave a date of up to 4 weeks out for delivery. Again, I was fine with this due to the fact that I did not have an address yet. They stated that I would receive 1 month of free storage while I looked for a place. About 2 weeks later I had an address. I called as I was asked to and gave them the address and the earliest date of delivery(My mistake, don't do anything over the phone with these people). They asked me to put the earliest date in an email, which I did(it was the next day). They again told me that it would take up to 4 weeks, and I was ok with that since I had all my essentials. Fast forward 4 weeks and I had heard nothing(I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited the whole time before calling). This was another mistake on my part. I called them and left a voicemail asking where my stuff was. I received a voicemail and a text later that day stating that everything was on a truck and should be there within a week. So I waited a week and heard nothing. Called again and they said they would get back to me. A day later they called and said that I would have to pay $500 in storage fees before they would ship my stuff(which means they had lied about shipping it in the first place). I asked why they never shipped my stuff. They lied and stated I never provided them an address(if that was true, then why did they lie and say they shipped my stuff?). There was a lot of back and forth with them and they continued to refuse to ship my stuff. I ended up contacting the original broker and explained the situation. I provided them all the proof I had: texts, emails, and voicemails. Thankfully, they agreed with me and used their position to get them to finally ship my stuff. Everything arrived over 2 months after it was supposed to. There was some slight damage to 2 book cases because they used packing tape directly on the varnished wood. Other than that, everything was ok. I would never use this company, and make sure to ask any broker what company they are placing you with. Never pay in cash, and only communicate in a way that can be documented.

Using this company for my move was genuinely the worst mistake I could’ve made. I was told the delivery would take at most 5-10 days - I’ve now been living in an empty home for over a month. After 10 days with no update, I called the customer service number on the contract and was told that they would call the carrier now and call me right back - and never got a call back. I called back the next day and this exact process repeated for 11 days in a row, no exaggeration. Finally I looked through my email and found a different number. Someone actually spoke to me and managed to get an “update” - apparently my stuff was still just sitting there because “smaller moves aren’t financially worth it so no one wants to drive it, sorry.” This is after I paid them thousands of dollars. At the one month mark I called again and was told, FINALLY, that my stuff was in transit and should be arriving within the next few days. For reference, the driving distance to my destination should have been about 2-3 days maximum. After 5 days of no update, I called again only to be told that my move had NOT in fact ever left and they are “still trying to find a driver.” So evidently they just lied and told me my stuff was on the way and then claimed they had no idea where that information came from. So now I’m still sitting here, a month after moving in an empty home. If I could go back in time I would use literally ANY other company on earth to avoid dealing with this. I would genuinely trust a random person off the street with my belongings more than these people. Do not under any circumstances use this company. I honestly am starting to have no hope of ever seeing my belongings again or receiving them months later. Absolute nightmare.

One star is too generous! This is the WORST company to do business with. They don't control what items belong to you and this is how a lot of my stuff was lost or stolen. They were packing my items until 2:00 AM and stuffed it into the truck that didn't have enough room in it and this is how most of my stuff was broken. My mattresses arrived strapped to the outside of the truck. They don't answer phones or emails. Buyer beware, find another company to move your belongings.

We didn't realize that we used a broker until we were assigned to Best van moving lines. At that point we were already several thousand dollars out. This company damaged every piece of furniture we own. Every box looked like it was tossed and moved several times. Boxes were stacked 5 high on arrival. They "lost" our 60" TV, a bike rack, my kid's art easel, and sentimental artwork. Their compensation package was $39. But if we wanted to insure everything it would have cost 20k. If you can move yourself, do it. Stay away from brokers and this company. Someone needs to disrupt this industry, there is too much corruption and not enough liability.

I cannot begin to implore you enough to reconsider using this company. We booked a move through US Standard Moving which had 4+ ratings. We are moving from Monterey to DC. We liked the sales rep, thought we got a fair price and expected a good experience. We were never told that our belongings would be picked up by a subsidiary moving company and that they would sit in a warehouse anywhere from 14-30 days before they were even re-loaded onto a different truck and sent to DC. Our experience thus far has been so deplorable I am very concerned I will never receive my belongings or that they will be severely damaged by this company that does not seem to care about customer service nor hiring professional movers. Day of move: Best Moving called the night before and said they would arrive between 9 am-12 pm. They showed up at 2:45 pm. I was never told by US Standard that I needed a cashier's check for half the move and that they would not even begin packing until they had one. They started packing after 3:30 pm once US Standard agreed to take a personal check. I had a hotel booked 3 hours away and had scheduled to begin my drive to DC that afternoon thinking the movers would arrive in the morning. The 4 movers did not wear masks, they each used my toilet for a #2 despite me saying my bathrooms were cleaned and not for use. They scuffed and dented my walls in a dozen places and I watched them literally slide my mattress down the stairs and it crashed into the wall. I had to ask them to please use moving blankets on several pieces of expensive furniture they were going to load with just plastic wrap on. I will say the 4 person crew was super chatty and nice and they all informed me they are not professional movers but do this part-time to earn tips. So I felt guilted to go to the bank to tip the non-professional men who arrived late, smelled up my bathrooms, and dented my walls. As they had everything loaded they mentioned to me my belongings were not going to DC, instead they were going to a warehouse in Santa Clara where they would sit for 7-14 days. After 10 days, my items still have not shipped. I left 2 messages with the sales rep, 2 messages with US Standard Moving customer service and finally called Best Moving Van Lines to find out when my items would arrive. THEY HAD NO DATE SCHEDULED FOR DELIVERY. My items are sitting in a warehouse in Santa Clara and the company has no date scheduled to move them. I spent 30 minutes arguing with the service rep who told me she was the only customer service personnel for the entire company and that there were no managers available to answer my questions and that they would just tell me the same thing if one was available. She belittled my concerns and I got angry. She told me it was standard practice to keep items 21-30 days before shipping them to the destination and they would send me an email letting me know when they were on their way. AN EMAIL? This is unacceptable. After nearly losing my mind, she finally conceded to put me on hold for 15 min to wait for a manager who was somewhat more helpful than she was. He told me to send AN EMAIL with my earliest delivery date. What does that mean? I expected my items to be shipped 10 days ago. I contracted with US Standard Moving and they NEVER mentioned my items would sit in a warehouse and be delivered when they felt like it. No one mentioned I had to send an email to "confirm" some expected delivery date. No one will tell me when I can expect my belongings. They have $6400 of my money, my ENTIRE household of belongings and they will not tell me when or if my belongings will arrive. I will reiterate that when I gave US Standard Moving my downpayment on the move, I was never informed a subsidiary of the company would be conducting the move. This company is deceptive, unprofessional and unhelpful when you are trying to locate the whereabouts of your entire life that is sitting in a warehouse.
