VCA took exceptional care of my dog from the moment I walked in the door with him. Their staff and vets genuinely cared about his wellbeing during a difficult time. My phone calls were always answered and I had immediate responses about his condition when he was hospitalized. The vets took their time explaining his care to me and answered every question I had. I truly feel VCA went above and beyond in caring for my dog and I am truly grateful.

I was very disappointed with this vet to be honest. I was referred by another vet because they have longer emergency hours. They knew I had just come from the first vet and instead of requesting all of the needed tests and info before the first vet closed, they didn’t get the information. They of course blamed it on the first vet saying they should have sent the info. My dog needed surgery So I let them run all of the tests again because it was urgent and they had quoted my vet a specific price for the surgery needed. Hours later, estimate came in $4k more than the high end of what they had quoted my vet. So I let them run all of those tests on him (that I had already paid for earlier in the day) just for me to get transferred somewhere else. I just think that it’s not okay to charge people for information you had time to get from the vet they just left a few minutes before. Just an unfortunate experience. The doctor I saw was great but I wish the receptionist or whoever is in charge of records would have been more diligent with collecting needed info.

I had an outstanding experience at Arboretum View. My large German Shepherd was having a respiratory infection. I had been treating him through my regular vet, but over a weekend, his symptoms really increased. I was using a digital instant read thermometer, and became very concerned when I was getting reading of 108°. VCA made arrangements for me to bring him in right away, and were able to more effectively examine him (actual temp 103.6). Knowing that he wasnt in immediate danger, I was able to bring him home. All the staff were friendly and sympathetic. A great experience for a freaked out fur-dad. Special kudos to Lisa, the vet tech that examined him...above and beyond great care! Thank you VCA!!!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!! My dad brought our dog in on Saturday (8/27) after she had been bleeding from her mouth. The vet told him it was just a cut and that she needed pills to stop the bleeding. Other than the cut she was fine and healthy. Fast forward to today (8/29) our dog has gotten worse. When we called to receive her records they refused. Needless to say we brought her to a different vet who informed us that our dog either has cancer, an autoimmune disease, or somehow ate poison. She suffered for 3 days because these idiots gave her a pill and then told us she was fine. Sadly, we have to put her down tonight. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE! If I could give 0 stars I would.

Thank you so much to all the staff here for taking such great care of my Ruby. This was one of the most difficult times of my life and knowing the amazing care she was getting really helped me through. Our baby is now home safe and back to her normal self. I can’t say thank you enough for saving our baby. I am forever grateful.

Drove 1 hour and came in through the ED to have a vet help guide us and assist with making end-of-life decisions. I was told by the tech that my options were to wait several hours for a doctor to see my dog or I could have him euthanized right away with no wait time. Needless to say, I left and we are seeking care elsewhere.

I want to thank the neurologist, Dr. Birkel, for helping me with my dog. She explained my options thoroughly. Medical terms could be confusing but she talked through them in a way that were very understandable. My dog has a long road ahead of him but he is better and I'm so grateful for that. The techs that assisted her on my two visits, Denise and Lisa, were extremely helpful and patient. I feel they went above and beyond in caring for my dog (and even myself). Amy, the supervisor, was so sweet and was able to get me a sooner appointment since my dog's condition had worsened very fast. She also helped calm me down when I was faced with their rudest front desk clerk, Michelle R. She had a nasty attitude and ruined the pleasant visits I was having both times at checkout. When caring for our dogs, who are our babies, the last thing we need is poor customer service, acting like we're a bother for making you do your job. Everyone else I came across with was so pleasant, including Laura over the phone. Hopefully Michele R. can get with the program. Otherwise, I would've given 5 stars, instead of 4. The facility is very clean and waiting area is setup comfortably so dogs are separated.

The staff here are the kindest and most understanding people. They take time to ensure you know everything that your pet is going through in plain, simple terms. Our lab-mix Theodore had to have surgery. Dr. Przywara was so patient when he explained all the intricacies of Theo's condition. It is clear he is very passionate about his work, which made us so much more comfortable. Our little guy has anxiety issues too, but during his three day stay, he seemed immensely comfortable and well taken care of. We have had problems with vets in the past, making us relatively skeptical and jaded about the entire experience. But VCA changed that perspective significantly. Of course, the wait times are...not the best. But considering the level of care they provide, it's not surprising. I sure wouldn't want my appointments rushed, so in my opinion, they are justified. This place is amazing. 10/10.

First I want to say that the care the emergency doctors provide is great. However the support staff and the policy and procedures make working with this animal hospital very hard. On numerous occasions I’ve been told my dog was ready for pickup and then forced to wait for hours while they “verify charges”. On multiple occasions I’ve been told my pet is going to be discharged “shortly” only to wait 2-3 more hours with few if any updates. I understand that the nature of running an emergency room often makes it hard to give exact times and that urgent needs can often shift priorities however communication is key and often it seems like they simply aren’t staffed properly for the volume of patients they see. I really wish this place would get things in better shape, by the time a patient is called for pickup everything should be ready to go and fully taken care of.

I cannot thank the doctors, techs, assistants, and receptionists enough who went above and beyond for my dog Carlo. I am deeply grateful for everything they did for us. Please know your pets will be safe, loved and well cared for here and receive the utmost best treatment.
