We rented a Tesla, drove by at 7 am and no Tesla was on the lot. Came in at 10 am and were told that our car went out at 9 am… Sorry! What good is a reservation for a car, getting a reservation number and thinking that the car is waiting for you… When they either never had it or worse gave it away. I’ll tell you what good it is, they expect you to be put in a position where you need a car and you will rent whatever they have on the lot! It is a complete scam and should be illegal. We asked how can we guarantee that we rent a Tesla and will get a Tesla on the day that we rent it for even if it’s two weeks out and the girl said I don’t know I can’t guarantee you anything !

The young Lady there was more interested in eating her Pound Cake with her fingers, then in serving me. 4 Times I requested info. about the Red Tesla and she kept asking which color I was interested in. I do not know if it was a mental issue or a Recreational Smoking issue... but that was the worst Car Rental experience EVER! She said the prices vary up and down everyday and that if I had a Tesla Club Membership, that I would get a discount. Why would I need a Tesla Club a discount?

It should be 0 stars. Avoid at all costs. I reserved a vehicle for 2 days. I picked it up at 1157AM and it was not ready - it was not clean - the windshield was full of dead bugs. When I started driving the vehicle it notified me that the wiper fluid was low. I drove the car to my home about 15 miles away and returned 4.5 hours later when my vehicle was done being serviced down the street. I got my bill 5 days later and it shows I was charged for 2 days of rentals plus a miscellanous fee of $144. There was no explanation for the miscellaneous fee. Upon calling Hertz customer service you cannot even get an answer. Avoid this business and go to the other major rental car place down the street.

Go anywhere else!!!!! Absolutely anywhere. Walk if you have to. This place sucks. Customer service was horrible. Car that we paid for was already rented out!!! They offered no help or assistance. We rented from a different place and it was cheaper by hundreds of dollars!!!!

This was the worst experience ever the agents were rude while being helped by one agent the other agent would jump in. So rude never seen anything like this in customer service I got my reservation through priceline maybe thats why. The agent told me he rented the car that we reserved to someone else and had no more cars while the lot had at least 2 small SUVs . He gave the other customer a Honda SUV but we had reserved a chevy Malibu. I don't recommend this place to my enemy go to Enterprise in Libertyville or Round lake.

There's a reason this place is rated below 3 stars. Even with a confirmed booking, they were relying on a customer to drop off a rental in the next 2 hours. Customer service was not great. No offer to get another vehicle or provide any help - even for a Gold Rewards member. Just wait and hopefully your car gets dropped off in the next few hours. Recommend avoiding this location or try to call ahead to confirm an actual rental is available for pickup.

Inquired about rental for debit card.. Manager was rude and unprofessional. Refused to give me his name. He is short tempered, uninformative and should be fired. Shame on Hertz.

Very helpful employees. I received great customer service and prompt attention. The rental vehicles have always been available as promised. This rental was ready on time and full with fuel. Customer agent, Drew, was attentive and solved my question on billing. I knew before departing what my final charges would be. I was given information on the plate pass system as well as how to use my Illinois issued ipass device. All questions were resolved and I felt confident leaving the rental location I recommend highly.

I intentionally waited to post this review to ensure I wasn't overly critical and completely objective. I don't write negative reviews often, and when I do, you can be sure they're deserving of the review. Long story short, I'm from out of state, took an Uber for a pick-up time of 5. Arrived exactly at 5 and they're closed. Lady sitting outside eating said that they left a few minutes ago. I came back the next morning and encountered Drew, the manager. I picked up the vehicle then inquired about why no one was there the evening before. All he could do is argue with me about how he was there and didn't leave early. Zero customer service. Later that day, he called me to tell me that because I argued with him, I was now banned from renting from Hertz again. This was completely vendictive, as I was calm and did not use profanities. Just sharing my experience so you can be warned. I've also written Corporate Customer Care (incidentally, I've beard nothing from them, so perhaps this is a systematic company-wide issue)

I booked for 1 week a premium SUV about two months in advance and at the time to pick it up I found out the SUV is dirty and when the agent asked me to sign the papers I refused and I asked for the manger. I asked him to wash the car for me and clean the interior he refused and said due to Hertz policy we can’t wash our cars when it’s less than 30 degree. I pulled my phone and showed him it was over 30 degree at 5pm which it was almost 40 degree the afternoon of January 7. However I refused and they said it’s pre-paid when I asked to cancel so I had no other choice. I called their customer service and they took care of it I got a car wash and they reimbursing me. I would never rent a car from this location. It was first time and I always rented from enterprise and Always have amazing experience and they have great customer service but with Hertz It was a very bad experience and I’m extremely unsatisfied with their services and will never come back.
