Rating this store in particular and not the clothing product itself. The assistant manager here acts helpless and unwilling to uphold the longstanding Eddie Bauer return policy. When I asked her to contact the manager, she stayed it was his day off and she wouldn't bother with it. She stated the return policy in opposition to what I pulled up on the Eddie Bauer website, though having her see it she still defied the policy, as though it was her personal agenda and not that of the company. She was not at all pleasant to deal with and borderline defiant. She did not offer up a single solution other than me driving back (80 miles round trip) to deal with the real manager another day. I had to take the initiative to call the corporate number to Eddie Bauer. It took all of 20 seconds to clear up the issue. The representative on the phone was shocked that the in-store assistant manager would not take the items for return, that clearly met the policy. On that brief phone call they were happy to take all three items back in return in exchange for a full refund, they sent me the return labels in email and it was a very simple exchange process. The sad part is that I, the customer, must do all the work. The helpless assistant manager couldn't even make a single recommendation to help me with my issue. She was happy to just let me throw the clothes in the trash and walk out as an upset customer. Poor management. All she could say in the end was I'm glad you got your issue taken care of..... And she's not wrong, I...I...I had to take care of it. I've shopped at Eddie Bauer exclusively for years, simply because they have a good product and their return policy has always been superfluous to other stores. Absolutely worst customer service. The store was an absolute mess. I have had multiple friends tell me how rude the sales associates were and they are. I checked with customer service to see if I could try on and they were allowing only 3 pieces per customer, which is fair given this time. I asked to try on and was told that it was company policy that people were not allowed to try on, I then told her that I spoke with a representative from customer service and she said “we would have to be wearing gloves when handling the merchandise” which to me said that they were too lazy to do anything to convenience the customer. And for some reason this woman struck me as the manager on duty and gave me a bad taste of what Eddie Bauer stands for as a company. I have been a customer for almost 20 years and have always recommended Eddie Bauer to friends and family. I will no longer do that and will be sure to voice my opinion due to this terrible customer service at Clay Terrace. The store and staff were a mess. Do not visit this store.

You pretty much have to check out yourself! You have to take the hangers off yourself, hand them the tag so they can ring it up because they refuse to touch anything, and place your items in the bag yourself !!!! I understand policies have changed because of covid, but this is to far. Eddie Bauer you have lost my business for good and keep these policies up you will be bankrupt. :)

I brought in an old hoodie with a busted zipper. They apologized and let me exchange it with another?! Months later my favorite jeans failed when the stitching came loose. So, hey why not, I brought them back. I walked out 5 minutes later with a brand new pair of jeans. Their clothing is designed to last. It's not the cheapest but you're paying for quality. Each location has the same basic layout, same seasonal inventory, and they're always well kept. The employees have always been super friendly and helpful. Their website isn't the best but they often have free shipping coupled with their sales. The one downside is they rotate their inventory often enough that size availability is sometimes an issue. You need to act fast before it's gone. My absolute favorite item they sell are their flannel pajamas. Watching TV at night, going to bed, and waking up with coffee without them feels wrong! They're a must have, all year around.

After driving all the way to the store front location, I was told I need to exchange the item online. The employee was very condescending and offered little to no help except to tell me my only option is dealing with their terrible customer service which last time took over an hour for one phone call. He insisted I used the chat that isn't even available. NOT HAPPY.. They might as well shut this location down also if that's how they expect to continue to run their business.

This place is awesome, went in a couple of weeks ago and got a shirt for my wife and made a comment to the sales person about a pair of pants that I had that had the hem come out. He said bring them back in because of the life time warranty they would replace them. I brought back the pants and 3 shirts that also had small issue and they replaced them all under the lifetime warranty. This place knows how to take care of their customers!

I brought back the pants and 3 shirts that also had small issue and they replaced them all under the lifetime warranty. This place knows how to take care of their customers!

This place is awesome, went in a couple of weeks ago and got a shirt for my wife and made a comment to the sales person about a pair of pants that I had that had the hem come out. He said bring them back in because of the life time warranty they would replace them. I brought back the pants and 3 shirts that also had small issue and they replaced them all under the lifetime warranty. This place knows how to take care of their customers!
