Chevron Peoria

It's all 1 place, but there are 2 parts, so just to avoid confusion; "Chevron" refers to the gas pumps outside, and the inside store is "Francis & Son's Food Mart". Both the inside and outside are kept very clean - even the restrooms. The employees are friendly. They have new, free, self-service car vacuums for use during the day (I have never used them, and I forget the hours they are available.) It is both convenient and safe. The store & gas are open 24/7 and it is well lit. This location also the least expensive for gasoline compared to the other Chevrons in the area. The downside is the name "Francis & Sons Food Mart" is misleading. I don't know what defines a "Food Mart", but to me, I imagine a small scale grocery store. They are comparable to any other gas station. Quick Trip has more "food" choices than here. You can use your Safeway grocery store rewards to get a discount on gas here. EDIT: I have used the vacuums and they are more powerful than any vacuum I have ever used. They will suck up car keys, papers, and just about ANYTHING, so make sure to clear valuables from it's path! They also have a compressed air gun beside the vacuum. ~Heidi

Fry's Food And Drug

I go to Fry’s because of the great fried chicken meal deals. For at least 6 months when I go to the Fry’s on 91st and Olive the pans in the warmer displays are empty. Now, if it was other than noon or 5:00 PM in the evening or especially dinner or after church at noon when most customers look to Fry’s delicious chicken I would understand the wait…but not at times when this item is expected to be ready and good to go for customers. I went in last Sunday at about noon and nothing mother hubbard-wow was I disappointed. Not only was I told in about 30 minutes, but 1 1/2 hours later and after telling one of the store meanders about this twice finally the chicken was ready( the manager was nice enough to comp the 3 chicken breasts) however, the guy at the deli who gave me my ordered freaked out because I said I wanted “ chicken breasts@ and he thought I wanted 8 chicken breast pieces. Understandably, that is a lot to ask for and I didn’t think I was going to get complemented all my chicken order. Anyway, I went to this Fry’s today a little past noon and again no chicken. I asked when this would be ready and the common theme answer in about one hour-bummer-I gave commonly experienced this at the deli many times… too many to post here. I could go to another Fry’s, but this one is closest to my home. Please can someone use better time management to make this on demand item available for their customers? At least during high demand times! ~Laurie

Peoria Cafe

Popped in for a quick to go order. The staff was really nice and quick to accommodate. I got the Greek salad with chicken and my daughter got the turkey club. Both were excellent. The veggies were fresh and crispy and cold on the salad. The club was well stacked quality meat. We will be going back. ~Joe

United States Postal Service

They won't attempt to deliver to my door and instead leave a pink slip in the mailbox even on a Saturday when someone is home all day. Can never reschedule because the online form always says the barcodes on the slip are invalid. Can never pickup either because their open hours are the same as my work schedule. Gotta love unprofessional public services that don't care. ~Kyoya

United States Postal Service

Yes, the lines might be long, be really, if you will just be patient, you will see that despite the length, they do move fairly fast. One reviewer said that there was 1 person at the window - I'm sure that was only for a brief moment. When I have been, there are always multiple people at the window, and if only 1, it is just for a brief moment. I also can't believe someone is complaining of the weeds and tree outside. That is the commercial property manager's responsibility...how do you know if the post office didn't already call in a service request for the property? All in all, the service at this facility has been adequate. There are some workers here who provide an exceptional experience. Yes, I had the one employee who tried to tell me I needed to pay $8 to send a certified letter, when the other employee overheard, and said I only need to add a label to the letter for $2. Which I knew, so I wasn't concerned. It's just how things go in retail, you will get all kinds of employees, but generally speaking, this is a good post office to go to, and when you need help on something complex, they will do what it takes to help you. By the way, the lines are not always long. Mondays or after a holiday, perhaps. Noon time maybe. The 3rd of the month, when the Seniors are a go-going, yes. But otherwise, not at all a bad wait. ~Jewel
