14 Best bank in Overland Park, Kansas (KS) 2024

Just completed refinancing our house with peoples. We stayed with Peoples because the did such a great job first time around. Tim Franklin & team, as expected, did a great job this time as well. Everything went through quickly and without a hitch. GOOD JOB. ~mark

AMAZING SERVICE. I have been working to try to find an automobile that will work for my budget and I have been consistently calling this branch and speaking with both Dalton and Ryne about what I have been doing for an auto loan they approved me for. They never act like I'm in the way, they are always helpful and never getting discouraged with how much I bother them about the auto loan and finding a car through calls and what not. They have both made my life a lot easier dealing with everything I have questioned them about and asked them for, and never acting like I'm in the way and always being positive and helpful. I hope this branch sees this post so they can give them a raise lol ~h3llokitttyX17

As a customer I have had mixed experiences here. When she was the mortgage advisor there, Joy was great to work with. Brenda is a superb bank manager. The tellers have been variable. Some are great and some, not so much. However, what prompted me to write this review was their fraud service. This is not a specific reflection of this bank, but I could not find FNBO on yelp. I had fraudulent activity on my ATM card. I reported this as soon as I found out. As of now, the matter is not resolved. (Please see below; the matter has now been resolved). I have been shunted to 3 distinct people and have been on hold for over an hour just to get the huge sum of money that was withdrawn from my account back in my account. Their fraud department fell asleep on the job. They authorized a payment for way more than was in my account, and had to go to a back up account. How could that have even happened? Now I have to deal with the fall out, and I have to say that they are not helping. I am very very disappointed. I thought the advantage of using a small town bank was that they would have your back in a situation like this. Guess I was wrong. If fraud and security are a concern, find a bank with better protection than this one. Quick follow up: After several phone calls resulted in futility I did get someone in the fraud department who listened to me attentively, got her supervisor involved (not on my request) and while I was on hold they worked their way through the phone merry go round and found an investigator who escalated my claim. I am pleased to report the matter has been resolved. I am grateful to the representative who helped me in the Fraud department. I can revise my star rating to 4.5. I do believe the people who monitor ATM and credit card transactions should be more alert. ~Marilyn

Just left the bank and once again had great customer service. Ive had accounts there for a year and a half. Every person I have worked with through the home mortgage process to the front line tellers have been outstanding! Rare to find this kind of great customer service anymore! ~Kris

They aren't bad. My card has been hacked twice in as many years, and their online banking is a joke, but fees are cheap and every branch seems to have a happy and helpful staff. ~Mark

US Bank has the worst customer service. The 1st time I tried to set up an auto pay on a vehicle loan it took me 5 months! I printed and mailed the set up form the 1st try, got a letter stating they cancelled auto pay, keep in mind it was never even set up yet. The other 4 times I went into the OP location and had 3 failed attempts. One of which I received a letter stating it was set up and it didn't process. Luckily I checked the account online and saw this, but still resulted in a late payment. Finally this was set up correctly about a year ago. I have since changed personal banks, so I am now in the process of trying to set it up again. 1st attempt has failed, I will return to the location and being trying again. Can't wait to pay the truck off so I never have to deal with this horrible business again. ~Emily

I will not bank @ Commerce as Travis was unhelpful and intrusive with too many personal questions. I did find Johnathan Shields there very professional and accommodation when opening my account. Thank you Johnathan. This institution I will never bank at again. It is a big mistake on Travis’ judgement. ~Robin

OMG, totally not worth banking here, despite their 1% promotion. Had 3 people helping me because together they made a whole person! It took an HOUR to open a money market account! Never did receive my counter checks or debit card. Then I go home to add external accounts and it states I have added too many accounts, when I had added none! I did an online chat and was told that is a known problem and they have no time frame as to when this will be resolved! REALLY! As soon as funds are released I will be taking up to the limit from my account, and the rest will be removed on the 91st day so I do not incur any penalty! No wonder I left this bank a couple years ago. I should have known not to go back. ~P

I've been a long time customer, but recently had an incredible customer service experience and HAD to share. PJ opened the lobby for me a few minutes early, patiently explained some banking features I wasn't taking advantage of, and thoroughly checked my transaction for accuracy. I so appreciated the ways he went above and beyond for me. Highly recommend this location! ~Katherine

If a business is going to tell you they are open on Sunday, they had better be. Their website and google both state that they are open Sunday till 4PM. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't have taken the time and used the gas to go by there, valuable lesson learned. Don't trust anything you read or see and make a phone call it's much cheaper. Very disappointed with this. ~Mark
