8 Best pet store in San Antonio, Texas (TX) 2024

Don't take your dog to the Vetco pet clinic. They charge for everything including disposing material non-hazardous and more. I think it's obvious but take your dog to your local pet vet. You will always get better help from people who care and price things reasonably. This place is a corporation out to get your money, and that's it. Now I get why they had to rename their clinic as a market strategy. I hated the old one, and the new one is just as bad. The secretary is sweet, though. ~John

We just relocated here so we've been using the pet hotel while we are looking at homes, and the staff is so amazing! The dogs seem to love it and it's very affordable for half a day! Highly recommend! These are photos of them in the car/at the hotel after daycare! ~Jasmine

I was gifted a rabbit from here by my best friend and he is literally the sweetest boy. He was well taken care of, outgoing, and best of all, POTTY TRAINED. We have had him since November and not one mess around the house, he goes into his cage at 7 every night and hops around like one of the kids. Oh and his best friend is a pigeon here at my house, they hangout and sleep in a little ball sometimes.. We really lucked with him. We are first time rabbit owners and are thankful for pet land for providing a little knowledge and instructions for the first couple weeks.. we usually go there for bird supplies but will continue to come here for all pet needs and later fur babies. ~Darry

I came here on May 5 it was slow and the employees were real friendly. So I was looking for wound medicine for my nephew's dog and I can't remember the name of the employee that helped me find it. The check out process was quick and some if the shelves were empty due to the shipping situations that are occurring but that was expected. ~CJ

Nice place. Employees are super friendly. The dog beds weren’t clearly priced. I had to search their app with the SKU number to find the price. They don’t have a very good selection of clothes. My dogs love clothes but I can get a better selection at Big Lots than here. ~T.

Nice and clean. Had all we needed, my Cody enjoyed himself in store. Wish they sold squeaky balls individually. Didn't have a wide selection. Overall very nice visit ~Lisa

Pet’s Barn is a nice neighborhood pet store. It offers both local and large brands of pet food. Many of their treats are sold as a Buy 2, Get 1 free deal, as is their dust-free kitty litter. Our pets are fans of both. They also sell critters for pets and feeding. There is a nice selection of collars and leashes, pet beds and enclosures, bird feed and small animal supplies. The Activa treats are fresh and are a favorite for my pup, as are the other dog treats. If one of the young mee working, they will help you take things out to your car. Often, the young ladies working are wrapped up in their own conversations and are generally not helpful. If you need assistance, you might want to Google before arriving. During my last visit, I took two different videos for this review and was in the store for a while; however, I was not greeted or asked if I needed help. When I checked out, the cashier didn’t speak to me until she gave me the total for my purchase. Another employee was on her phone the whole time and the four young ladies working seemed to just be socializing. With that said, if you know what you want, this is a nice in-and-out choice but if you have questions or need help, maybe not the best choice for you. ~Celina

Solid pet store that is a little bit hidden behind a lot of other shops. It's a little smelly on the inside which is expected with a pet heavy store, but that is made up for by the enormous selection. They carry all of the essentials and the staff is more than willing to help. There is a training center and a pet adoption section located here as well. ~Michael
