8 Best auto repair shop in Staunton, Virginia (VA) 2024

Always dreaded the experience when it comes to mechanic shop, dealing with unfriendly staff and excessive charges. But today was it and it was actually a pleasant experience. I had a tire with air coming out, stopped in a the last hour and had it patched up within the hour despite having 4 people in front of me. The staff was very friendly, prompt in getting me in the system for the check up and repair. Recommended what was needed and applied it, patched and on my way. Even asked him I needed new tires, he said no, still good for another 20k. Best experience so far. Thank guys! ~Brian

Easy process. The sales person Ron Hartlaub was honest, clear in his explanations and on top of my process. He stayed in close communication as we were tracking the progress of this van being built and shipped. My first experience with this dealership and first new car purchase in over 15 years. I'd strongly recommend this dealer. Looking forward to a good service dept. experience too since I've heard so many good reports about it! ~Judith

My experience here was somewhat mixed. The office staff was friendly, and so was the shop manager. I did have an issue with the work which resulted in me having to take the car back to them. The primary issues were a mismatch of paint, as well as alignment issues. There were other small things addressed as well. They were willing to sort it out and did sort out most of it, but stated that due to other parts of the car having been painted previously, they would not be able to make everything match perfectly. I can understand this to a degree with some understanding of the need for blending. The paint in my eyes doesn't match much better if at all than in the photo, but everything else seems to be fine now. I did not push harder for the paint correction after receiving it the second time however, so it may be that they would have fixed it. Ultimately the car is for a teen driver, and it has some value in being a reminder to watch out where they are going! In this instance, I would have rated the shop a 3.5 star, but as I had dealt with them before where I would have given them 5 stars, I will give them a 4 overall. My husband and I worked with Matt, who was GREAT! Definitely a top notch purchasing experience. We were not able to get there until right before closing, but I had worked with Matt over the phone during the day to get things coordinated for test drive and purchase. He had all the paperwork ready for us, and we were in and out in about ~45 minutes. Matt even stayed until after 5 to accommodate us. Also, the truck we purchased was reasonably priced! 5/5 Stars. Quick and efficient work. Replaced (sub par) work done by another local shop and took the time to explain what had happened to need the work done a second time. I do not recommend this place. Very slow in getting work done and the cost was 300 dollars more than the estimate. Poor communication by the office. We were told 3 different days it was going to be done. We had to call each time. No calls were made to update. On the 4th day we were told we went to pick up our vehicle and noticed when we got home the dirty engine cover was sitting in the back seat. They were good 15 years ago but now are horrible. Several of our friends have said the same thing and they will no longer get any of my business or my family's. ~Buster

Before a long trip we wanted an oil change and an overall check on the car. They found a broken motor mount. They called to tell me the problem and my options, for which I’m grateful. Got everything fixed at a respectable price. Everyone there are very knowledgeable and friendly. They explain everything in layman's terms so you know what is going on.
