On a Sunday afternoon, my boyfriend and I went to Fenwick Beer & Wine for an outdoor free cider tasting of Austin Eastciders, Chesapeake Cider Company, Graft Cider, Downeast Cider, and ANXO Cider. Our favorites were Austin Eastciders' Blood Orange and Passionfruit ciders, Chesapeake Cider's Orange Crush and Blackberry ciders, Downeast Cider's Pineapple, Strawberry, Original, Blackberry, Pineapple-Strawberry, and Strawberry-Blackberry, and Graft Cider's Salt & Sand Mezcal Margarita. After the cider tasting, we shopped at the store. Pedro and Esther were friendly and helpful. We didn't see any of Austin Eastciders' Passionfruit cider so we had to ask for it. We ended up getting a variety of four and six pack of cider and beer including Ace Guava Cider, Downeast Cider Strawberry/Blueberry/Raspberry Cider, Austin Eastciders' Passionfruit Cider, Red Shedman's Raspberry and Apple Pie & Ice Cream Cider, and 3 Stars Brewing Low Hanging Fruit Sour Ale.

Like that this place carries unique beers and wines but it’s expensive. Today they recommended a pinot noir that costs $15 online and they charged close to $30. I also asked for a drier pinot and it’s pretty sweet.

If you want a store with a great beer selection in the area, this is it. Amazingly thorough in choices - particularly for Belgian ales, where they go way beyond the standard Stella/Chimay/Duvel that can typically be found at other stores. Yeah, it's possible to find some things more cheaply at certain DC locations, but the Fenwick is owned by helpful, nice people and clearly put a lot of effort into stocking what they do. Come here if you want to find special, good beer.

Beware of expired beer here. Today we bought 3 types of beer here, and ALL of them were expired, one expired over a year ago (see attached photo). Very disappointed.

Love this place. A small, local business selling an enormous variety of beer and wine. Staff are always knowledgeable and know where anything is located so don’t hesitate to ask if you can’t find something. Got a bunch of Oktoberfest beers and looking forward to tasting them all.

Best. Beer. Store. Period. Love this pace and you will too. Owners are super, always helpful and always friendly. No better place for me to go get beer and wine. Plenty of local brews, to include my all time favorite beer in the world— Denizen’s Animal Hazy.

Maybe the County-run stores are a bit cheaper, but the County stores sell only mass-market "craft beer" brands like Samuel Adams. Even better, Fenwick usually discounts six-packs from a different local brewery each month.
