I’ve shopped at Shinola on Canfield, Shinola at Great Lakes Crossing, and Shinola at the Shinola Hotel. They are all good and have helpful sales people. Shinola at Somerset is a horrible representation of the Shinola brand. All I wanted was a new battery put in my watch. A sales person said they could do that for me. They took me to a computer and wanted to create an account for me before I could get a battery! Why? I was told because they could notify me about when my watch would be ready. I said it’s just a battery and you’re doing it right now, so why do you need my name, address, phone, email? Change the battery, I’ll pay for it and leave. Two other sales people had to come over and get involved in my refusal to turn over personal information. Then, one of the new people to the conversation said “how will we contact you when it’s ready?” I’ll be standing right here! Nope. Now they won’t do it until tomorrow. Wow! What a crock! I won’t give them a way to send me spam emails and texts so they won’t put a battery in my watch. Makes me wonder why I bought two Shinolas? I would expect good service considering how much I overpaid for my two assembled in Detroit watches. Not at Shinola Somerset. Unhelpful staff working there.

I love Shinola products. I went in to buy some accessories for my San Francisco trip and was ignored by the staff. I strolled around for 10 minutes and left. It's unlikely that I will go back to this store again.

Bought my wife a watch. The battery lasted less than a year. I get that. Go get it replaced. It took three weeks!. What, did they walk it to Detroit? Not good value for the price paid.

I went in today to see what shinola is all about. Customer service is the most horrible i have seen here. I asked about automatic watches and the movements they have. I was shown where they are, no furthet explaination. watches are too big and in your face for my taste.

Very nice. Expensive. Okay staff. Great design. Great product. If I'm looking to spend 1 thousand on a bag and jump on a private jet, I'd come here to pick up the luggage.

The staff at this store were all absolutely amazing. Mina helped me pick out a birthday gift for my boss (and something for myself as well) without being pushy or rude at all. She pulled out all the items for me to look at and helped me choose the best one. I will definitely be back to this location when I make my next purchase.

I can’t thank Shinola enough for the best customer service I’ve ever had. I was just in at the Somerset location to get new watch batteries in 4 of my watches. The employees went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed, offered assistance, gave me a sparkling water, and kept me informed on how much longer it would take to finish servicing my watches. I will most definitely keep returning to Shinola at Somerset. Professional, outgoing, and very friendly customer service. They really deserve recognition!

When I bought my Shinola watch in 2017, I was told the first watch replacement battery was on them. Here it is 2021- my battery died a couple years ago and I wasn't able to get to a Shinola dealer to have it replaced because of stupid Covid. The people at the store tell me that that policy of a free battery replacement ended in 2019, I get that - that's not a problem, but you can't tell somebody that bought something earlier that because you don't do that replacement policy anymore that they now have to pay for their first battery. You honor that commitment up to the point of when you ended that policy which would be according to their employees was 2019, so eventually it will catch up to their sales. None of the workers in the store seem to understand that, but after having explain it to them they agreed to waive the fee for replacing my battery this time and this time only. I get that, I don't have a problem going back there and having to pay for a second, third, fourth or 5th battery replacement, I understood that the day that I bought the watch years ago. It's not the cost of $25 that is irritating, $25 is really nothing, it's the principal of your agreement at the time that you buy something that should be honored. So I commend and appreciate the sales people at the store for making the correct decision and making this customer happy and rest assured that next time I need a watch I will buy another Shinola! Thank you

I fell in love with a Shinola watch back in September, and my husband decided to gift it to me for Christmas. Unfortunately, by the time that December rolled around the watch was sold out both online and in (most) Shinola stores. The folks at the Somerset location were able to find the watch I wanted in another Shinola store in Pennsylvania. We bought the watch on Saturday 12/18, and it arrived from Pennsylvania on the following Tuesday- just in time for Christmas! I wish I could remember all of the names of the guys who helped us because they made the experience amazing! I will definitely return for more purchases in the future!
