I just had Shaw Auto install a hitch on my suv this week. I don't have the most flexible schedule, so I appreciate them being patient and getting the work done on my day off. The price was reasonable and the time it took for installation was great. Would definitely recommend.

Shaw’s Auto is second to none when it comes to servicing my 2010 RAV4. I had an accident last year; no body damage, but Steve replaced the entire front end and it purrs like a kitten. I don’t trust anyone but Shaws to service my car. The transmission in my 2000 CR-V died on the turnpike on a Sunday 700miles from home. Usually this would be a good opening line in a Horror movie but Steve and the guys at Shaws all put on their super hero suits and saved us. What was nearly worst case scenario turned in to a nice rest stop and getting to meet fabulous people. Can’t thank them enough for getting us back on the road! Service: Transmission

Shaw quoted me $153 (over 1 hour of labor) to replace 1 indicator light bulb. I purchased 2 bulbs (same exact part) online for $10 and replaced both rear indicator lights in 3 minutes. The other repair quotes offered were astronomically laughable, and on average 2-3x the price of other shops in the area. I have heard many people share experiences of this shops wildly inflated repair quotes since then. Beware!

Disappointing workmanship, poor customer service, and over-inflated repair quotes. I’ve been waiting over a month to hear back from the owner on two failed attempts at replacing the AC compressor. This has put me in a awkward position that I’ve never been in before. I’ve never had a mechanic fail to properly fix something once, let alone twice. I asked for a refund, or at least have the owner call me. At this point, I’ve been given zero explanation of the breakdown of why this is happening. Every time I call they just rushed say “bring it back, we’ll order another one.” Why should I bring it back if they keep not fixing it? To make matters worse, before their ac repairs failed me and they were still in my good graces, I asked them to inspect my wheel bearings and suspension because I was hearing a noise. I was emailed a $2,700 estimate to replace all four wheel bearings (12 hrs labor). After a hard pass, I proceeded to get two more quotes from two trusted shops. Both came back at $1800 with 6-8 hours of labor, same work. I tried giving Shaw a chance, because finding a trusted local mechanic is genuinely challenging. So, I emailed the owner and asked why their wheel bearing quote was so much higher. His response boiled down to “we pride ourselves in our work” and, “essentially, times are tough.” Additionally, it’s been incredibly insulting to have left multiple messages with multiple office staff and being told each time the owner will call you back when he gets in today. It’s an abysmal service point to wonder, is the message not being cared to be delivered? Or, is it not being cared to be returned? Given my personal experience there, I’m not sure where the quality work is to take pride in or, how times will be getting any less tough if you’re taking people’s money and not properly fixing people’s vehicles.

In August 2021, I was looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and honest auto service shop and found Shaw’s was rated very high. When I explained the issue I was experiencing to Steve Shaw he knew of the cause. After a 42 point diagnostic test, which I appreciated, the test gave the status of my vehicles health and found the suspected cause. The tech took pictures of the problem area, was honest with repair needs and cost as well as performing a couple of preventive maintenance items that were due. Zach was patient with working with my schedule and kept me informed I highly recommend Shaw’s auto! I had a very positive experience and will use them for future repairs and maintenance. Shaw repaired an air conditioning leak and replaced my front struts and rear shocks. I bought the car used so now it’s riding better than ever and ac is working great.
