Established in 1948, we have a rich history of high quality, personalized auto repair. Right the first time is more than just a slogan to us. Their work is excellent; however, they have lost that small-town feel. The "corporate way" is a massive turn-off for me. It seems like they are always trying you sell extras., like the "comprehensive inspection" for just $70. I went in for an oil change, and during their inspection of my vehicle, they not that the cabin air filter needed replacing. The staff had to access it behind the glove box to do this check. When I inquired about the replacement cost, it was $75. I already knew that the filter was about $25. I asked why the price was $75; the response was it was the labor for the access; mind you, the mechanic already accessed the filter for free during the inspection. It took me about 3 minutes to replace this filter myself. I don't mind paying for labor, but $50 for 3 minutes of work? They also told me that my rear tires were worn and cupping due to worn-out suspension that I should replace for $750. I was replacing the tires the next day, so I had the tire place look at the suspension. There was nothing wrong with the suspension. The rear tires were out of alignment. That caused the cupping. Some of this is for services they added in that have nothing to do with the repair. But even taking those out and comparing apples to apples for just the parts and labor for the repair…exact same parts and labor…more than triple the price.

This place is an absolute joke. I was unaware that it was under newer ownership when I took my vehicle in there because I had used them many times in the past. The only thing about that place that didn't change was the name. Took it in for routine maintenance after my check engine light came on. They ran there "diagnostic" and said I had a bad spark plug. Wouldn't tell me that would fix the problem but told me they would charge me 720 dollars for plugs and wires. Anyway I took it to my regular mechanic who unfortunately was a 2 week wait but well worth it as I was only charged 200 dollars for a new set of plugs and was also told that there was no need to replace the wires. B and L used to be such a good place to take your vehicle and its sad to see that this how it operates now. Unless your desperate i would avoid at all costs.
