They froze my acct for 7 days for no reason and never notified me they were doing so or called me to clear up the issue they had. The Bank Protection department put no notes in the file regarding why they froze the acct so I couldn't get any help outside business hours. I called 5 different times and spent hours on this only to find out the issue they were concerned about had been resolved BY THEM 6 weeks prior. They had even sent me a letter. AND the Alberta branch was supposed to notify me and never did. I have had no access to my money for 7 days. They are worthless. This is the worst and LAST of a string of mistakes by Umpqua Bank.

If you get a loan with them expect misleading junk mail titled “Final Notice” with solicitation inside. Totally not cool/confusing for a new home owner who is trying to be on top of payments.

Personable staff are here to meet your banking needs. Appointments recommended but not required. Face masks *are* required.

I've been banking here for a few years- the people are nice and the ambiance is better than at most banks. The ATMs are outdated (as of now Dec 2019) and are hard to read and take forever! For that reason you may opt to wait in a line to see a teller versus use the ATM

Why do I need to take off work to go to a bank? Good service and nice folks mean nothing of I can never make it there before they close. Please get real hours that serve your customers.

I can't believe all the bitchy reviews on here...I mean, who the hell even goes into a bank anymore except to open an account? It's called Online Banking folks and it works every bit as well as going into the branch. Oh, and have you ever used a smart phone...great...cause you can use that for most of your banking/financial transactions too these days. Bunch of stone age curmudgeons need to be dragged into the 21st century...ridiculous. Bank teller is a boring and underpaid job, what do you expect from those folks anyhow...do you write crappy reviews for the DMV and Post Office as well?

Love this bank. I've been coming here for years. The tellers are often advanced into other positions in the company and so can rotate through a few tellers, but I always find that I have a relationship with each person and they are wonderful. I'm in once a week.

I have been banking with Umpqua since they first opened in Salem around 2003 )I was a "charter member"!). For several years I loved the personal friendly service at the branches, the 800 phone service was always answered promptly, I opened a business account with them, and problems were usually resolved easily, I often received phone calls alerting me to potential problems with my account. Liked them so much that when I moved to a state with no Umpqua banks I kept them as my primary checking account, despite the access inconveniences, some of which I could resolve in my annual trips to OR. Lately I have encountered more and more problems with this bank, seemingly coinciding with the Sterling merger and related changes. They have been extremely slow to come to the table with phone apps that allow photo deposit (finally just came out this month, I think?). I have had THREE card replacements issued by them in the past year due to potential large-scale retail fraud (reported by VISA, not me). The latest one they called me and promised to send a new card immediately....forward 3 weeks, tried to use my card forgetting it was going to be no good, was declined, realize I never received the replacement. Call to CS (with long hold), only to find out the replacement card was never sent, and (bonus!) their new system won't allow any new cards to be issued for another week, but they will then Fedex it (wow--I'm underwhelmed). My son has run into similar problems receiving replacement cards, so its not an isolated incident. Sorry to see the downslide in service, glad I finally decided to switch my primary checking to a local bank or I wouldn't be able to buy my groceries!

Tired of faceless banking? I was until I started banking with Umpqua! EVERY person that I have interacted with at Every location that I have visited has been happy, helpful and efficient. This is exactly what I demand from a bank. I also do my business banking here and would never consider working with another banking institution. Each branch is a little different, but, they all offer tools for my business that have proved invaluable. With their recent acquisition of Sterling Bank, things will only get better (more locations).

Umpqua Bank 625 E Gibbs Ave, Cottage Grove, OR 97424 This has got to be the worst bank in the world, for website AND customer service. Bank declined our credit card payment because they "didn't like the looks" of the company I was buying from. We have ordered from this company many times without a problem...It is for medication. The money was in the account, but this Bank declined the transaction without even contacting us! (I heard about the decline from the company we were ordering from.) Took us 2 days to get a 1 minute answer from the bank (and still waiting for this transaction to be fixed!): Unanswered emails, long waits on the phone line with obnoxious music & ads designed to drive you away from Customer Service Help as quickly as possible. Website has been very bad from the start; Multiple re-works without any improvement in functionality. A high-school kid writes could write software programs better than this: Out-dated from the outset. Help Page has NO active links. Random extended down-times for maintenance. Slow updates to transactions. Transactions that come and go, and then come back again. It's crazy. I recommend a different bank. ANY bank has got to be better than this.
