I have always been a fan of HYVEE, but sad to say I am no longer a fan of this (Madison WI) pharmacy. I called in for a refill on 9-14-22 and was told it would be ready on 9-17-22 after 12 noon. I didn't receive any notification that script was ready and did not go in as I was was waiting for my Dr. to phone in 3 more scripts, and I was hoping to make one trip to the pharm. Today is 9-19-22 and called my Dr. and was told the scripts had been sent to Hyvee last week. At noon today my husband called the pharm. to inquire about my scripts and one of his. He let the phone ring 20 rings no one picked up call. Between 12:30 and 4pm I tried to talk to the pharm. again no answer, I tried 5 different times. Next I called main store and told them up my attempts, the nice young lady said let me transfer your call. No answer. I called balled to to same young lady, I told her no answer. She said she would go to pharm. and tell them of my saga. I was on hold for 19 minutes, she returned to me and said she spoke to the pharm. and she assured me she would again transfer my call and call would be answered. But nope. I called again and spoke to a Mgr. named Mitch. He also assured me he would go to the pharm.. and tell them they have to pick up the phone, and/or return a call to me as I had left my name and number. He returned to my call and was very sorry for all my time and trouble. He said it appeared the was only ONE person working in the pharm.. and he was buried trying to fill scripts.. Now it's 4:50.pm with pharm. closing at 5pm. I really am sympathetic to apparently being terribly short staffed but I need my medicine 😕 .

If you like getting your prescriptions weeks later and can deal with a pharmacy that consistently cannot supply the 100 most commonly prescribed drugs this place is for you. Both the young boy and old lady working this two bit operation seem to have zero interest in customer service and will never call you when your prescriptions ready. If you dont have health insurance you may be tempted to go here as the rates with GoodRX are always slightly cheaper than other major chains but if you rely on your prescription medication in any way I suggest you go anywhere but here.

You're better off somewhere else. Thank you to Ryan the store director for doing his best to help me out, but the pharmacy staff was perfectly content to let me go multiple days without my medication. For context, they didn't have two of my three medications and told me to come back after noon the next day when the shipment came in. They never called to notify me whether the order was ready or not and by the time I called a little after one they had closed early without telling anyone (me or anyone else at Hy-Vee). I tried getting my Dr. to send a new prescription to a different pharmacy, but once it was sent to Hy-Vee they had to be the ones to process it any further or else insurance wouldn't cover it. All this to say it's hard to believe Hy-Vee takes their customer's health seriously when they could have offered to send the prescriptions to another pharmacy when they knew they wouldn't be able to fulfill it for more than two days. Update: When I met with Ryan, he took down my information and told me they would call as soon as my meds were ready in the morning. I never received a phone call. I was able to drive up there when my kids went down for a nap and was told by Claire that Ryan didn't leave her my information and no one else in the store knew it. I personally watched Ryan write down my info and read it back to me. I don't know what's going on up there, but the point stands, you're better off somewhere else.

Very slow! Not sure if it is just the old lady or it is the way they run and operate. We will never go back. Waited one hour and she told us they don’t have it. Unbelievable!

I switched from Walgreens to this Hy-Vee Pharmacy a few years ago and am happy I did. The staff here is excellent - very compassionate and most are eager to help. There are times when I have to go to Walgreens because this pharmacy doesn't have the expansive hours; however, when I have a choice, it's not a hard choice. Depending on insurance, you can receive 5 cents on your fuel saver card for each prescription filled. It can add up quick. It would be great if they were open a little later, especially on Saturdays. I appreciate the attentive and the knowledgeable staff. If you aren't restricted to when you need to pick up your medications, I highly recommend giving Hy-Vee on the east side a try.
