I had called the UPS store on Greenback in Orangevale. I spoke with Pam. I explained that I wanted to ship a portrait, I gave her all the details. She said that they couldn't do it. (The Web site said UPS could.) I asked if there was another UPS Store that could. She said I could call around. She just didnt care. Very unprofessional. Then I called the one in Gold River on Gold Express Way. The young lady, Kayla, was cheerful and very helpful. She said that they could! My whole experience there was amazing. Friendly. Professional. And the cost....$100 less than I expected. I recommend this UPS store highly. I work for USPS. I know where I will send Customers who need things packed, as well as shipped. Thank you Kayla.

I have consistently had good experience with the Gold River UPS store. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. I purposely have my packages sent to this store even though there is another UPS store that is closer to my home.

I trust these guys completely. I have had a mailbox here for a year, and they are great at communication, forwarding mail reliably when needed, and overall attitude. I’m very glad that I chose this UPS store for a mailbox!!

I had several packages that I was shipping on a relocate to another country. I was told it would be less expensive if they condensed them into larger boxes. I trusted them and they charged me to re-pack everything and in some cases boxes double the size of the item and then stuffed the remaining empty space with paper. They were told this was all household goods returning to place of origin after having been in the USA for over 3 years. Instead of creating a proper commercial invoice stating this information they sent it as commercial goods and I am having to pay duty on everything coming back into the country of residence. When I spoke with a UPS duty broker I was told they did this so they could make more money for themselves. At First they were extremely helpful, and now I know why! I would never ship from this location again even given all the other positive reviews. They maybe OK for local and national shipping but for international they are a rip off! All I am saying is don't be deceived by their presentation or appearance of being nice. They are only in it for themselves and don't hesitate in taking advantage of someone. Last point is that when I inquired about the UPS multi-parcel ship they said it was cheaper to ship as separate packages, which I ended up doing. I came to learn, again from UPS corporate that this is not the case and that they should have in fact shipped everything under one tracking number.

I’m surprised at even one negative review. I have been coming to the Gold River UPS Store for about 5 years. They are a busy location so they get swamped with customers sometimes. (They are probably busy because it’s a good store.) They are kind, patient, and often know who you are. I have had mailboxes at many stores thru CA and this location is wonderful.

A few months ago I moved to the area and needed a business mail and package address for my remote office. This place is great. I get a text as soon as I receive a package and after the second visit they recognized me. Great service. Only downside is that the owner is a Dodger fan.

This location is awful. Back in September I went in for a Live Scan and the operator completely omitted my social security number from the online form he filled out. Because of the lag time with the agency I’m applying for, I wasn’t notified of the error until the end of October. The location was kind enough to rescan with no charge only after telling me the operator (store manager) “never makes that kind of mistake” and made me feel like I was liar for even saying otherwise. After the rescan, I waited another long month to find out this SAME OPERATOR (the manager mind you) had messed up inputting my social security number, this time dropping a number off of it. I went in today after finding out the error to request a refund. The store manager assisted me and still managed to mess up by charging me the rescan fee instead of refunding. This store has caused such a headache for me. My advice is to go elsewhere if you need anything other than to drop off a package.

I needed my fingerprints sent to the DOJ, found this as the closest location. They did two sets, first one was fine, second one they input my social incorrectly which set me back months. When I finally figured out what happened, I brought it to their attention, they offered a $20 credit on my next set, but that ultimately it was my fault - I was never shown any sort of documentation to review and confirm they had the correct info - just the sheet that I had filled out initially with the correct information on it. When I showed this to them all I received was..."well it kina looks like a 7". They were extremely rude, unwilling to accept a mistake was made and I felt like they were being put out to even give me a credit towards having it done again. I have been a repeat customer, but will not go back. I own a small business myself and customer service is paramount - they don't have it here, so they will not get my business again.

I have been going to the this store for almost 10 years now and the professionalism and courteousness has always been exemplary. The staff are very knowledgeable and always offer the best options for shipping and packaging. I do not qualify as elderly yet and so the statement I read about them only being courteous to that generation is one I will disagree with. Of all the times I have been in the store I have only witnessed polite and friendly service to each person they spoke with and for long time clients such as myself, some joking around about current events. I would highly recommend this store for all your packaging and shipping needs!
