I was the only one at this post office today in Newport dropping off a couple cards that I had already put stamps on (I just wanted to get them post marked) and the older scruffy looking guy working behind the counter looked kinda bored, so I asked him if he knew of “ a website” that could help me get the # number of a street address I was missing. I explained I had gone online and I had no luck finding it on my own. He basically interjected that he couldn’t help me and that I would have to look it up myself, I explained that I wasn’t asking for help and I didn’t need his help that I just wanted to know if USPS had “a website” that I could go on to look up the address and that when I tried searching at home, I kept coming up with scam websites that wanted me to enter my credit card number to find people or give me any information. He then got defensive saying the post office didn’t have scam websites and at that point he had already ruined my happy afternoon out to the post office so I just said I would try again when I got home. He was so rude like I was interrupting him and so unhelpful that I wish I never went in to that post office.

These people that work here are the most ignorant people alive. The lady cookie at the front always is a despicable person. Haven't received mail at my business in 4 days & she said she has no control over it. Got into a heated argument with her & when you give it back to her she said she would call the cops. Lol, worst post office in America

All of these 1-star reviews seem to be from 2+ years ago; I've used this location 3-4 times in the past couple weeks, and the service has been top notch every single time. Far exceeded my expectations, given the (in some cases deserved) bad rap that USPS locations have gotten in recent years.

19804 NEVER EVER answers their phone. Created 2 complaints today with USPS 800 number. This is the worst office I've encountered. My carrier guy is the BEST though. Not a problem with him but the office is lousy!

Robert at the front counter was so amazing today! I came in with a 2 year old & two packages that needed to be shipped. I accidentally put the wrong label on one & I was just all over the place because of my social anxiety! He made me feel so much better & he helped me with everything! He was very patient & kind! I will be coming here for now on instead of the other one I was going to! Thanks Robert!

Came in just to drop off a package, wanted to be in and out. The lady up front was named Iris. She was really rude and not so friendly. Made me so uncomfortable that I just wanted to walk out. When she started to start my package she said the address was wrong.. when I said thats okay I'll come back another time she kept asking if I still wanted to send it. I told her no 4 times before I could get my package back and leave. She clearly didn't want to be at work and I'm sorry that she had to be. I will be going out of my way to go to another post office than go back here.

. I just left there and received horrible service from Iris! to say that anyone can treat a customer the way she does should never be allowed. I was sent out to fill out forms explaining they were international packages I did not have labels when I came back she spoke down to me and was very derogatory. ma’am you know you must have a label well I didn’t know how I was sending it yet I tried to ask these questions but your coworker sent me out without even giving me a chance to ask them. they been expecting me to carry my packages back out for a third time. I don’t know how people like this can stay in a business where you obviously hate your work , if you hate it this much do something else I don’t think it’s fair to torture people who are spending $82 to send a package and act like you’re doing them a favor

I honestly wouldn't even give this post office stars. The only good thing about this facility is that it is always relatively clean when you walk in. However, there's poorly written signage all over the front of the store with no clear indication of protocol once you get inside and if you do something wrong, you're immediately yelled at or scolded by one of the employees. I have yet to have a pleasant experience at this post office. The employees are rude, dismissive, and give you nothing but attitude even if you ask them the most simple question. They rush you out the door if you happen to have mail that needs to be adjusted and they just don't care about whether or not they provide good customer service. I will not be doing here again. Ever.
