I adopted Ruffles about a month ago. She has been renamed Spirit. She adjusted very well to the lake. She comes when I call her and eats out of my hand. All the other around the lake residents love her also. She is a sweet and beautiful addition to our private lake. 3 Silver Applegate ducks (in the pic, they look like extra large Mallard ducks) were given to us and they are adjusting well. The staff at the SPCA was great!

Went to the SPCA to adopt our very first pets on Friday. It was a surprise for the kids we added 2 little Hammies to our family! The staff was super helpful and was able to help us pick out the perfect little guys quickly! My kids fell in love immediately! They are the sweetest things even if one of them peed on my daughter the first day lol! Always rescue first!

Great organization but wait time to adopt a 11 year old cat was almost 2 hours.

Sadly had to bring my cat here to be put down 😢. Lady at front desk was really compassionate and made sure I was well taken care of and my cat. She educated me on everything they do there helping animals. You can foster animals, and there’s a huge yard to run around and play. I didn’t get to check out the whole facility or kennels. Overall it was an easy process and experience to have smeags put down. They offer the remains back if you want. Place seems like it’s very efficient at everything they do! Looking forward to coming back to look at the animals!

My mother called into this place to inquire about surrendering her dog. She let them know that she was having difficulty with her dog and that her dog unintentionally bit her during a fight with another dog when she tried to separate them. She had a history of aggression with other animals but NEVER humans which is what we told the intake personnel, on the phone the person stated we could surrender our dog and they would retrain her and try to rehome her, “it depends on the dog and how they do with training” if she didn’t show positive progress then the latter would happen which made sense and we quickly left since time was running out. Once we got to the facility they tell us the ONLY option is to euthanize her. A COMPLETE 180 to what we were told prior to driving here. We could not bring her back to our home, it’s why we brought her to this facility in the first place… the only option we were given was to euthanize her as soon as we signed the paperwork or go back home… we came because we thought she would get training and find a better home than we were able to give her. Even when speaking to one of the staff in real time about the euthanasia process and facility practice ….things didn’t make sense… Fees, cremation, training, filing a bite report automatically puts her on the kill list, etc…you would think in the moment that you could take the time to breakdown information so critical instead of just nodding your head . It seems because they were closing they tried to guilt trip us to make a decision quickly, the woman told us if we left her there and tried to make a decision over her quarantine time she would not get any human interaction, only a bowl of food in secluded area and she would be anxious and stressed because she would be alone and have to hear other dogs be walked and played with. We bet our last option on SPCA and it’s disheartening knowing that she had to be put down due to misinformation over a phone call.. ONLY use this facility as a LAST option. At least if we knew filing this information to surrender her would mean her only option was dying we could’ve brought her to a vet to be euthanized and be mentally prepared instead of thinking she would have training to stop the aggression.

I want to save and adopt a dog. I have disabilities and a dog would really benefit me. What a racket! The cuter gentler smaller dogs were so much money, like $800 you might as well go to a breeder. I was horrified and I don't recommend anyone going here for a cute little dog. There are plenty of dogs that are affordably adoptable. I am disabled, I have seizures, I cannot have a large dog however I want a fur baby and I was just blown away at the nonchalant manner with which I was told that's what a smaller dog goes for because they're preferred. I was just horrified. Forget that I am on disability benefits and that I really don't have $800 just to adopt a dog. There are veterinarian fees registration fees and continued examinations not to mention food. It's not that I'm not willing to invest in a dog, however I was there to rescue the dog. They should be ashamed of themselves completely and utterly ashamed!

So thankful for this place! Went 3 times within a week to look at cats and finally left with one who had been there all 3 times. The volunteers are really helpful and surprisingly knowledgeable about the individual cats even though the turnover rate is really high for some. They offer a free first vet visit to two partner vets after adoption.

We adopted our Pearlie girl and she is a God given miracle. Whoever owned her before loved her immensely. We were lucky to adopt this sweet girl. She is our angel. She loves my grandson so much and I wouldn't trade her for the world. Love you Pearlie. Thank you ASPCA.
