8 Best beauty supply store in Birmingham, Alabama (AL) 2024

I hardly ever go to this store. However, I went yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of clearance items they had. The absolutely blew me away there were so many deals I was not able to take advantage of them all. The staff was more than courteous and answered all the questions that I asked. ~Caldwell

I went to this Walgreens to have a passport photo made. There was only one cashier at the time who was having issues, she called a manager and 2 managers came up there with another cashier. As they were walking back around the counter, I asked to get the photo taken, all three of them were there. The manager Melissa said to just sit in the chair and she would get someone. 20 minutes later the other cashier came back up (all the while there was atleast 6 customers waiting to check out) I asked is there someone who can come take this photo? She said “oh I can do it for you”. I was thinking “why didn’t she do it in the first place instead of making me wait? So I asked and she said EXCUSE ME!” I don’t tolerate a cashier to get an attitude with me well, so I asked for the manager and she finally came, how I know her name is Melissa and the other lady came, and they said “they were busy with another customer??? No other customer was there, they were all at the front trying to check out. She got an attitude when I asked what the first young girls name was and said “I don’t give my associates name out” for me to call corporate and I did. And they asked what the associates name was???And as I left BOTH managers left the cashier area and left the one cashier there alone, with 6 people in line to be checked out.Never again will I step foot in that Walgreens, and as for those people I saw waiting in line, they should have left their items in the floor. And for the only cashier I seen working, I would look for another job, cause they are not doing her right at all. She deserves better. I manage 11 stores and if one of my managers did this to ANY of my customers, they would be unemployed. They are supposed to be held to higher standards ~John

The worst employees with the WORST attitudes. From the head pharmacist to the cashier, I’ve never seen a worse pharmacy. It’s so easy to be nice to people. These people cannot even be friendly. Disgusting and will NEVER support this store again. Head pharmacist literally wouldn’t finish a transaction for my 6 year old daughter to get the eye drops that the pharmacist had in her hand, bc it was 1:30 and they close at lunch. Meanwhile my daughters eye is swollen shut and is crying in pain, but it was 1:30 and it was time for lunch. ~Eli

Absolutely dismal customer service - pharmacy closed “due to staff shortage” but only when you actually get there. A prudent shop owner would have updated hours on the website. I am moving my pharmacy across the street to Walmart. ~Willie

I have visited this Walgreens pharmacy a few times now to refill a prescription (because my primary Walgreens has been out of stock on the medication I need), and I've been so impressed with the customer service I've received at this location--especially compared to other pharmacies in town. I'm not exactly phased at this point when pharmacists are blatantly rude or seem perturbed that you're there... trying to fill a simple prescription. But I've interacted with multiple pharmacy staff during my visits to the Walgreens Vulcan location and have never experienced anything short of absolute friendliness and kindness. The staff seem to actually enjoy their jobs and care about their customers. In fact, when I was there earlier today, I witnessed an example of a customer coming through the drive-through requesting to say "hi" to a specific pharmacist by name, and she was of course delighted to pop over and say hello. The staff smile and make jokes with one another (not in an unprofessional way at all), and they really make your time at the counter feel pleasant. I've come in towards the end of the day before, and I could tell that the pharmacist was whooped, but she was still so pleasant and professional--not showing a trace of "I really wish I could just go home" attitude. I honestly only ever leave reviews when I've had an exceptionally positive, or outstandingly negative, experience with a business, and I absolutely could not neglect to leave one for the pharmacy team here. Oh, and beyond being above and beyond when it comes to personal relations, they're speedy as well! All to say, even though this location is technically a bit further from my home, I'm sold on making it my primary pharmacy. ~Darcy

I have stopped here several times and always found the personnel to be nice and helpful. Got what I needed and usually cheaper than anywhere else. I buy snacks here, they have brand names. ~Larry

I had ordered a Wildflower case that was on sale last night for in-store pickup. I got a confirmation email and everything immediately after. The next day, I get an email saying my order has been cancelled because ‘it’s no longer available’ at my store. What? The website literally said the cases were in stock when I ordered, and since I placed the order last night, they should’ve kept it aside for me. Very, very disappointing. And then in the cancellation email, they tell me I can get $10 off on my next order. Great, right? No. The $10 is only for orders above $50. You think I’m gonna buy $50 worth of things at this store after what just happened? I’m just saying they could’ve given me some alternative. ~Prabhakaran
