6 Best school supply store in Kansas City, Missouri (MO) 2024

Could it get any worse? Refrigerators often run too warm, and Health Dept. has to cite them repeatedly. I have bought milk there several times and had to pour it down the drain, though the expiration date said it was good for 10 more days. Even though their credit card machine asks you if you want cash back---they won't give it to you, pretending they don't have it---which is a big fat lie. Suggest they change their machine so that it reflects their "inability" to issue cash---they whine that it "can't be done". Their website says they are open until 9PM, but they close whenever they feel like it. When you suggest they change their website to reflect their true hours, they blame corporate, and say it is IMPOSSIBLE for them to do so. Suggest they call corporate and ask---they begin to insult you and call you names. Of course, they all wore chin diapers during pandemic, and will tell you that "my supervisor says it's OK". I won't even go into the appearance of the store itself. Enter at your own risk. ~Vicki

This is the nicest, cleanest, most well stocked Dollar Tree you will find anywhere. Not only that, but the size of their products didn’t shrink at the same time as the prices went up, which happened at other locations. Makes it still kind of worth it for snacks. ~Max

When we entered the store, there was an associate checking customers out and one stocking. By the time we were ready to check out (within 10 minutes), there was an entire line waiting. I called the store and the manager answered, and I informed her that she had a 15+ deep line of customers and her associate needed help. Waited a few minutes and she didn't come out of the office. Called again, no answer. I could hear her in the office! We finally got to the register and Kristen was checking us out and I asked her where her help was. She said the manager was busy doing other things. As someone who's worked in retail, your manager paperwork can wait. Your customer's are there to get in and get out. The fact that she didn't acknowledge that her associate needed assistance checking the customers out is unacceptable. Kristen was patient and extremely sweet and I wanted to make sure she got the proper kudos. She was doing a great job and didn't break under the pressure. ~Summer

PLEASE... DO BETTER. How long has it been since someone checked the facilities? A pretty long time I would guess, since another customer had to resort to using paper towels for toilet paper. I had to find toilet paper myself to use. ~Patrick

Don't know her name in the printing department. But she has the color hair all the time. She is awesome. Very patient and friendly. She goes above and over to help you with whatever you need. Always has a answer to what you need.Beautiful spirit she has. Everyone is really friendly but she sticks out more . Not only with me I watch her with others as well. ~Diann

We were pleasantly surprised by the service and selection at this OfficeMax, office Depot location. The office store has a full line of printing, mailing, and office services including lamination. It is located within a strip mall so parking is abundant and easy. We visited specifically looking forward desks and office chairs and found the selection quite good. The most comfortable office chairs that they sell are the Serta brand chairs and they will run you upwards of $300 to $700. Definitely focus on these if you're looking, they are markedly more comfortable than their competitors. They carry close to two dozen different models of chairs to try out. The desk selection is also very good. They have well over a dozen different styles from traditional to modern, including L-shaped styles. They are reasonably priced, nothing I saw was over $1,000. As you would expect, they also carry office supplies like printers, electronics and accessories, some basic office packaged food items, binders, paper and the like. The store is very clean and well maintained. If you need office supplies, there is almost nothing that this store doesn't have. I can't speak to their return policy, which I've seen some complaints about, but other than that, this location is top notch! ~Kimberly
