My vehicle was damaged and mechanical issues. Maintenance required message was never taken care of. It appeared about 4-5 hours into the trip. No other options were available. The vehicle was so unsafe that our family decided to not commute back 3 hours to DCA airport and change the flight to ORF. Unexpected expenses but based on the sound of the car it was the best option.

First off I rented a 15 passenger van and when I got there to pick it up they gave me a 12 passenger and told me that was all they had. Then the van was in horrible shape. There was tape holding the window up and in. There was a back wall panel missing. Being as though my vacation was booked and paid for I had no choice but to take the van and go. Two of the people who paid for the trip were unable to go and one had to fly down because there was not enough seats as originally planned. Upon departing for the long ride to Florida we noticed there was no window washer fluid in the car. The coolant level was very low. The day after we arrived to Florida and were leaving to go to the beach we realized the tires were bald. To the point that the driver side tire had wires showing. We had to spend a whole day on the phone with Avis trying to get a new rental. We were supposed to be on the beach relaxing not on the phone or sitting in the house waiting for a new vehicle to be delivered. Now I will say the young lady that we spoke to on the phone was a great help. She gave us the best service and took great care of us. She made sure we had a great vehicle that was in tip top shape. This was by far my worst experience ever when renting a vehicle.

I received the wrong vehicle (paid for a 7pax and received a 6pax), I've called Avis 4 times and waited on hold for 20 plus minutes. I was told I would be receiving a percentage off my bill and still have not seen the refund. I am going to contact my credit card company to deal with this matter.

I will never rent a car from Avis again. Horrible customer service at particular sites so rent at your own risk.

My family was pulled over by MD state troopers after renting a rental car from them. I was pulled over for expired tags. Tags expired in MARCH! I didn’t even realize they were expired. After talking with the manager DJ, he didn’t even offer apologies or a partial refund of some sort for the inconvenience. Why is it legal to rent a car to someone AFTER the tags have expired? I started my rental in April, NOT march and I was given a car that was not appropriate to drive on the road. I’ve paid 545 in total for my entire trip. I will NEVER use Avis again.

Thank you to DJ for going above and beyond, you didn’t have to stay after closing to help us late arrivals but you did. Also to the lady who checked me in Wednesday morning thank you your professionalism and kind manner (sorry I forgot your name). THIS FIVE STAR REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE AVIS CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON THE PHONE. Yeah you guys suck, do better at trying to help people. Repeating to me what can be found online (like when an office closes) when I ask a specific question like do they have a drop box and will I be penalized and how much will it cost is not helping.

I was hit in my rental car and the car was totaled (I was not at fault). Every time I have called Avis about this, I spend hours on hold and get redirected from person to person to person. It's been nearly a month since my wreck and I still do not have a replacement car; I've had to rent a car with another car company in the meantime. I've now been told I will have to pay for the impound lot for the last month even though I gave them the impound information on the day of the accident. I am just baffled and shocked that any company could care so little about their customers. It was not a pretty wreck, I could have died. Yet I'm the one spending hours a week on the phone and paying for a rental car I don't even have. I feel like I need a lawyer for Avis, not the person who hit me.
